Not fire related, but crazy Aussy extremes:

"Drone footage over the central New South Wales town of Parkes has captured a huge wall of dust moving across the landscape. Damaging winds produced by thunderstorms across the state whipped up the dust storms, turning daytime into night in some towns..."

Why would somebody do this? As if Australia doesn't have enough problems to contend with!

My stepfather just died in England and his son, who lives in Canberra, flew over on Tuesday, arriving early Thursday morning 30 minutes before his father passed away.

His house in Australia is now right in the path of the latest Canberran bushfire. He has a friend looking after the property and animals, including his wife's horses, but the police won't let her on to the property, that''s how close it is. He is feeling helpless and while he lies awake in the early hours of the morning, in England.

Don't give up .. it's just around the corner.

Good rains have finally come, “breaking the back” of the bushfires. Flooding and torrential rain expected for mostly coastal regions, but not nearly enough in the drought affected areas out west.

Glad you're getting some rain, just a shame it's too much in some areas and nowhere near enough elsewhere. Take care of yourself with the risk of flooding.

Viewing the program from 60 minutes, very distressing.😬
