Scientists have discovered that daydreaming is an important tool for creativity. It causes a rush of activity in a circuit, which connects different parts of the brain and allows the mind to make new associations.

https://healthland.time.com/2012/02/02/how-massage-helps-heal-muscles-and-relieve-pain/  Feb. 02, 2012

Researchers found that massage set off a series of molecular events in muscles that helped reverse discomfort related to exercise. Massage dampened the activity of proteins known as inflammatory cytokines, which cause inflammation and pain. It also increased levels of proteins that signal the muscles to produce more mitochondria, the cell structures that produce energy and help muscles recover from activity.

Interesting article! It is also important to remember to stretch at least 10-15 minutes before and after an intense exercise workout in order to release some of the lactic acids that build up in the muscles to breakdown glucose in order to increase oxygen supply during intense sport. The study didn't mention that the participants did this, but I am guessing not in order to see the benefits of massage.

Another great benefit of stretching is it releases endorphins, the neurotransmitters in the brain that can elevate mood and alleviate pain and depression.

TQ Sister Brittany for reading the article. I was busy today and merely skimmed through the article. A brother who is in construction, works long hours and would definitely be feeling the aches and pains at the end of the day. I thought about how to alleviate the pain. Unsolicited advise as usual. I went to my backyard and caught my cat stretching herself. So I suddenly came up with the idea of massage. Now I know why cats loved to stretch themselves.

And yes stretching before and after exercise is extremely important.
