I’m currently waiting for the Governing Body’s explanation about this specific verse, because I also noticed how it could apply to what the King of the South is doing right now..

What if this will be included in Annual Meeting on October?

The book of Revelation focus on the Anglo-American power.

The comments on above news post are a mixture of outrage and twisted feelings.

@MyLuMoo 🍁:Trump said he needed the Russia/Ukraine conflict to end in order for him to get into heaven. Putin clearly just told him to go to he// 🤣

just my thought, prophecy is explained by GB when it is an ongoing fulfillment or near its fulfillment. I think we're close.

WT has mentioned before that we dont need things to be so terrible before the end comes.  People can still mind their business , eating, drinking, marrying.

This gives me hope that soon suffering will end and motivate me to prioritize God's Kingdom.

I try to be balanced with the news. I used to watch the world evening news every weekday. But for the last few months, I've been watching it once or maybe twice a week. I decided to reduce my viewing of the news because it’s always negative and full of disturbing images and stories. The brain is a powerful organ and the things you take in affect your thinking, emotional health, and actions. We may watch the news thinking the things we see and hear don't affect us but they do.

Sometimes I'll follow a particular story to see how it turns out, especially if I think there's spiritual significance.

These days, I get so sick and tired of slanted news coverage. I watch and read news coverage from both left and right-leaning media outlets. I’m so tired of networks constantly bashing the opposing party, their politicians, and supporting their party and politicians no matter what, even if they are in the wrong. I need to find some neutral sources. There's very few. I hope I can because I find Reuters to be boring.

Edit: I mistakened page 425 for the last page and assumed it was still the current topic.

The Hebrew word cushi or kushi is an affectionate term generally used in the Bible to refer to a dark-skinned person of African descent.

Note the last Scripture in the article in context:

What, then, may we expect? We need not look for news reports that governments are slowly becoming more supportive of the United Nations. What we can expect is this: With startling suddenness, Jehovah will put it into the hearts of the nations to hand over their power to the wild beast. When that happens, we will know that the great tribulation is about to begin. Meanwhile, “let us stay awake and keep our senses” because sudden changes are soon to come!—1 Thess. 5:6.

Interestingly most now criticize the U.N. for not doing its job, saying it has an outdated governance structure. That feeling increases every day as the world sinks deeper into despair and is most notable in the last two years and is even felt by the King of the South or the False Prophet that ignited the spark of the United Nations to begin with after both of the two world wars. God’s thought then would be the opposite of what the nations are currently thinking. 1 Thess. 5:6 quoted at the end of this article starts with the words ‘So, then showing this statement of staying awake is part of the same thought in context with the saying of “Peace and Security. Therefore, the giving of power to the United Nations is connected to the saying of Peace and Security just before the Day of Jehovah or the Great Tribulation begins!

High-level Meeting to Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations

This one-hour meeting will mark the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations, with UN officials and Heads of State and Government reflecting on the achievements of the past eight decades and the path ahead for a more inclusive and responsive multilateral system.

Interestingly the special campaign of “An End to War” begins in September with the special talk on that subject the week of September 22!

It sounds like you are saying Jehovah will use the UN to influence world leaders to accept his one thought. I apologize if I misunderstood.

Jehovah is not going to give his one thought through the United Nations.  He will influence the nations directly.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

sorry perhaps i should have worded it: WHEN COULD JEHOVAH GIVE THIS “ONE THOUGHT” TO THE NATIONS?

That question does not mean at all that it will occur during the September meeting since the U.N. website also says: "The General Assembly can also reconvene for special or emergency special sessions to address pressing issues."

The Watchtower also mentions: "! The prophecy shows that God himself will influence them to follow that course. (Prov. 21:1; compare Isaiah 44:28.)

Thank you for a well-written and highlighted post   (tu)

Here's a couple of thoughts:  The FDS says "We need not look for news reports that governments are slowly becoming more supportive of the United Nations".  So then, we need not look for news reports because there won't be any clues or hints beforehand. As Br. Jackson said "It will be an act of God".  Although there won't be any discernible 'signs', we have already been alerted that it will happen, and that's what we needed to know.

In contrast, 1 Thess 5:3 says "Whenever it is that they are saying, "Peace and security!" , then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them, just like birth pains of a pregnant woman."  So, this prophesy tells us the nations will be "saying" their belief that P&S is at hand, or even accomplished. This demon-inspired propaganda will fill the earth, misleading most.  So, this prophesy does unfold slowly, and we do well to pay attention to events that align with it.  Remember, the verse says "just like birth pains of a pregnant woman".  Expected, anticipated. Increasing in frequency, intensity and duration. Once labor pains begin, a woman knows that an unstoppable process has begun.

How Jehovah puts it into their hearts to "carry out his thought, yes, to carry out their one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast" we don't know. But I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be in collaboration with the United Nations itself.  I look forward to what comes out of the next General Assembly.

It’s not so much the pace of world events that really convince me the end is close, it’s how much more light Jehovah is revealing; at a faster pace, and more serious and urgent than before.

He is saying: “This is how it’s going down; make sure you are ready, and staying alert; it’s almost here!”

Thank you for this. I think the same way about it. It always reminds me of Amos 3:7, For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing Unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets.

Just a recap of what have been 'revealed' to us up to the present.

From 2021 - Understanding of John 5:28, 29

Where and when:  In the new world

2023 - Understanding of what we do know and what we don't know about Jehovah's judgment

When: During the Great Tribulation

Also adjusted understanding about Jehovah's judgment on Sodom and Gomorah; and adjusted ways on preaching, not focusing on report, but on every opportunity to witness.

2024 -Governing Body Update #2: Adjusted understanding on how we interact with those committed serious sins and have been removed in the congregation. (When: In the present)

Also, emphasizing now on starting Bible studies and making disciples instead of just placing literature.

and At the Annual Meeting 2024, Jehovah guided the FDS in the revelation of Rev. 17:16, 17. (When: Before the Great Tribulation starts)

What will be the next?

Let's see...
