First, the nations will proclaim “peace and security!” (1 Thess. 5:2, 3) “Instantly,” the great tribulation will begin when the nations attack all false religion. (Rev. 17:16) After that, there may be a supernatural display of “the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” *(Matt. 24:30) Jesus will pronounce judgment on humankind, separating the sheep from the goats. (Matt. 25:31-33, 46) Satan, though, will not be idle. In his hatred, he will incite a coalition of nations that the Bible calls Gog of the land of Magog to attack Jehovah’s pure worshippers. (Ezek. 38:2, 10, 11) At some point, the anointed remnant will be gathered to heaven to join Christ and his heavenly forces to fight the war of Armageddon, the finale of the great tribulation.

 

*Interessting that this may come even before the attack of Gog.....

The order of events may change when GT undergoes further developments. But if we stick to the order above, nations could be simply opting to “nothing to loose” scenario. Last fighting chance instead of going down without fight. Once the judgment is pronounced it will be all in for the wicked. Interesting times ahead. (So close now) I am sure that more details will emerge during GT, therefore what we know now, may slightly change. But for now we stick loyally with what is published on the subject, and more importantly loyally stick with Jehovah’s organisation during GT.

@New World Explorer Yeah, it so close. Another recent sign is when Russia stopped the grain deal  in  Baltic Sea that UN says it will cause global food shortage and inflation.

Another worry is that India has put a halt to its largest export category, non-basmati rice.  This variety is the most common rice used in Asian, Mexican and American recipes.

The Indian government said the ban takes effect on July 20 and only vessels currently loading would be allowed to export.

Rice (all varieties) is a staple food for more than 3 billion people.

Prices have already shot up and panic buying is happening.

 

The El Nino weather has been one reason.  But the decision is also political.  Quote:  "The move demonstrates the sensitivity of the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to food inflation ahead of a general election next year."

Jesus prophesied at Luke 21:11 we would see "fearful sights", or "strange and terrifying things" (Good News Translation).

 

Study notes say "fearful events" evidently refers to terrifying events.

 

Our featured topic at jw.org is "Summer 2023 Global Heat Wave".  Article says "Yes. Global heat waves and other forms of extreme weather fit events that the Bible foretold for our time.  For example, Jesus prophesied that we would see 'fearful sights' or 'strange and terrifying things'.  Rising global temperatures have led many to fear that humankind will ruin the earth."

 

Verse 25 fits as well. "On the earth anguish of nations not knowing the way out."

 

So, "fearful sights, terrifying events" are already happening along with food shortages, great earthquakes and pestilences.

The research material for Luke 21 is clear. I assumed the frightful signs would be seen right at the last moments but that's not true. The scripture is for the last gasping days of our system. The heatwave, food shortages, wars, pestilence, earthquakes, among other natural disasters that are terrorizing humanity is fulfillment of Luke 21. All at the same time.

Actually Rev 6:6 was quoted in tonight's outline with CO elders meeting.

Whole chapter 6 indicates closeness of the end.

Indeed...and it is on many HH minds, I heard last week a news commentator on one of our local TV  channels address the global inclement weather topic above - he said "for him it was like peering into the book of Revelation."

For the people it will be "true peace" but for us as true Christians we will discern that is a false peace and we will await the fulfillment of the prophecy. That day is coming fast, any moment it will happen

Maybe at the last moment, world leaders will unitedly stop all the factories... and therefore run out of money... that's why they'll be greedy about religion's money?

Our former president duterte, if Russia lost the war,  putin might be tempted to use nuke. Will that gonna be a trigger that they willl say peace and security?
