Donald Trump selling Bibles

Recommended Posts

Just for the sake of contrast...where I live , people in the community adore Trump. He is not hated as bad in the country  as he is in the city. Huge wealthy ranches fly Trump flags at their entrances and the town is full of pro Trump and anti Biden bumper stickers. He doesn't bother me as bad as some have mentioned on here. And in order to witness to ones in my community , I cant be having any show of such disdain. My bible student holds Trump in high regard, I am working on teaching him neutrality.

I only say this because I have read other threads with great debates on mercy for Hitler. Nobody has a problem with Hitlers name. In my opinion Hitler sinned against the Holy Spirit Up Down Left and Right killing Jehovah's anointed.( Simply my personal opinion) So if Hitler is okay to speak of .. Trump shouldnt be near as offensive. 🙃Just my two cents! Lol

It may be because we are living in the times, so we have a closer emotional connection than perhaps reading about it ?

I think both Hitler and Trump are repulsive.

The crimes are not the same... but I've got no affection for either one.

Well, it’s a good reminder to remain neutral. He does disgust me, due to all that’s mentioned above. It’s a struggle to keep my emotions out of it. He, Hitler, Attila the Hun. History is full of such people. Leaving it in Jehovah’s hands (but I feel it’s going to be quite a basket case time over there this year 🤪🤪)

I just watched the cringe worthy video that was created to sell the Bible. It's theme is "'Let's Make America Pray Again". I won't post the video here but you can go to Youtube and watch.

If that makes people more angry at religion-political mix

That reminds me of a crude but illustrative point on that ungodly mix of religion and politics in that it's like mixing poop and ice cream. When one adds ice cream to poop you don't ruin the poop. But add even a little poop to ice cream and you ruin the ice cream.

When I first heard that I thought, 'Interesting way to illustrate how the two shouldn't mix'. But later realized the one representing poop depends on which one you dislike. Some people's viewpoint is politics is the ice cream.

People adore him for many reasons, people hate him for just as many reasons. I don't dislike him because of his politics or anything else he is doing; I don't like his personality. It doesn't matter to me if he is a politician, movie star or if he was my dentist or just a guy that lives down the street, I think his personality is repulsive because it is everything that Jesus tells us we shouldn't be.

That's wonderful.  As Jehovah's people, neutrality isn't optional, it's law.

Thankfully, many beyond Trump have also had their share of indecencies and repulsive behaviors, it's makes being neutral easy. 😊

(Deuteronomy 28:3)  “Blessed you will be in the city, and blessed you will be in the field.

Being blessed by Jehovah is not contingent on location, assignment or circumstances.

I always wondered who Geoffrey Jackson refered to "I hope that idiot doesn't get in" in his talk about neutrality.

Brother Jackson shows his Aussieness in him with that comment, as we refer to all pollies here in this country as idiots. Trump wouldn't last 5 days with our media (even though skew-off it can be with some media outlets), nor would he last if he went against some of our politicians.

Rachael Maddow wrote a book, called, “Prequel “. It mainly the history of the 30ʼs and 40ʼs.

I read the history of Hitler in Germany.  He called news reports in the newspapers of that time the 'lying press'.  Some wealthy NAZI supporters took over a lot of newspapers by driving them out of business.  They then supported his NAZI propaganda in their reports.  Hitler used the phrase 'Make Germany Great Again, but never used it as a campaign slogan.  He said that the opposing party was out to destroy the country.  When he was in power he put Jehovah's Witnesses in concentration cmps along with others who did not support him.  I have been asked if Hitler would be resurrected.  I tell people that the decision is not for me to make.

This an interesting article concerning Trumps Hitler-like rhetoric.

I could never understand why some women support him, especially publicly. This is a man who’s been accused of rape, has cheated on his wife with a porn star, has made disparaging remarks about women’s appearances, and has admitted to sexual assault.

As far as the Bible’s are concerned, that’s all fake. So many conservative politicians put on a pretense like they’re religious to appeal to their base. His life doesn’t reflect that of a Christian. If he had any real respect for the Bible, he would have never came out with one, since he’s surrounded by so much scandal and controversy. Even Jehovah wouldn’t let David build the temple because he was a “man of war.” And if you’re going to release a Bible, do it because you love God’s word, not because you want to pay for legal fees.
And I think it’s disgusting that he added the constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the lyrics to “God bless the USA” to the Bible, as if they’re scripture. It’s really just pandering to the many “Christian Nationalists” that make up a lot of his supporters.
but Christian Nationalists are so ignorant that after enough time goes by, they will eventually think those things are scripture 🤦🏾‍♂️

I agree. Awful.

But if that helps usher in more disdain for religion hypocrisy and adds one more straw to the camels backs to destroy religion.

Then Im all for it. Lol

I am not going as far as saying that Trump is like Hitler.  Although his first wife said that he was always reading Hitler's speeches, he denies knowing anything about Hitler.  I just read about Hitler from the records I could find.  One researcher says that Trump tells the truth about 4% of the time, but that's just one person's word.

Yeah, I know you’re not saying that. I posted that article because it appears he gets a lot of his rhetoric/ideas from Hitler. It seems Trump wants to emulate him since he was so successful at brainwashing a lot of the people of Germany.

I honestly wish there was a way to block the word Trump from this site.

Poor US brothers! It must be so difficult to stay neutral in such a propagandist environment. It is just the same here in the UK. What a blessing we have the guidance of the organisation in these divisive times.

For my wife and I not at all. We were raised in the Truth growing up. Neither one of us has ever voted. There is a difference about forming an opinion about someone and having a political views concerning them. For Debbie and I  having had the Kingdom hope since children, we understand the reason for having government officials and their positions. We know they are not the solution to mans problems. The world is full of bad role models, examples and types of people that having nothing to to with being neutral. I am sure our neutrality will be tested in the coming months by people wanting to know why we do not get involved or vote. I could list a lot of entertainers or social influencers who have no effect on my wife or I. Having a strong hope in the Kingdom keeps us grounded in that area.

It's not difficult at for me at all. I have absolutely no idea what any of the political candidates are saying. All of the political candidates are the same - political candidates, and I ignore them equally.

Please don't confuse any of my comments about Mr Trump, they have nothing to do with politics. I thought I made that very clear in my earlier comments...

Interesting commentry from the New York Times today....

The Church of Trump: How He’s Infusing Christianity Into His Movement

Ending many of his rallies with a churchlike ritual and casting his prosecutions as persecution, the former president is demanding — and receiving — new levels of devotion from Republicans.
