Due to a data breach they recommend freezing your credit. I had never heard of this before but this article explains it

I froze my credit on all three bureaus years ago, I temporarily unfreeze just the bureau that will provide the credit report if I finance something. I also have a paid monitoring service besides the free ones we get every time someone gets hacked. I would also recommend that you periodically check your credit report. I think you can do it annually for free. https://www.annualcreditreport.com/index.action

What services are there that let you monitor and freeze/unfreeze all the places from one app or website?  Something reputable. Having to create logins for three of us for multiple sites makes me 🤪

You have to do each agency individually.

Actually I technically need to have four adults under my care. My husband and I, my adult son with autism who does have bank accounts and probably my son at bethel too. 
Everything in this system is so complicated….

Yes, many. LifeLock is a well-known credit monitoring agency.

 

I thought you were asking for a single agency that would let you freeze and unfreeze all three credit bureaus. You need to do that individually.

I thought maybe there was a service that could be a complete one stop shop.

i froze my SS # long time i only called one  of the credit bureaus Equifax 

 the other 2 are Experian & TransUnion they will give you a passcode to unlock your credit

I have had a freeze on all three credit services for over a decade.  I will unfreeze my credit if I ever need to finance anything which I rarely have to do.  I can write a check for anything I need except a house.  I have worked hard not to waste money all my life.

 

Freezing and unfreezing credit is easy.  I worked out a code system that allows me to have different passwords for everything, but I know exactly what the password is automatically.  That should work until I get that oldtimers problem.

I saw an ad for a home title lock on television, but then I saw that Lifelock included a home title lock.  I do not use either at present.
