The flood in Spain that just happened was a rare extreme weather event, a year’s worth of rain for that region in just 8 hours. The perfect storm was setup for this to happen and all thanks to our climate changing due to Anthropogenic Global Warming.

 

A low pressure system was centered in Valencia and two high pressure systems on opposite sides feeding constant moisture into that low pressure system (meteorologists are calling it a “cutoff low”).

You can see that low pressure system is trapped in a circle rotation due to a Coriolis force.

It is amazing that the devastation caused by the storms fueled by climate change cost far more than the money that is spent to combat climate change.  And that doesn't include the loss of life.

When I wrote this I should have added that the devastation caused by Helene costs more than is spent to combat climate change in an entire year in the US.

In the current COP29 summit meeting that is ongoing in Baku, they were talking about the flood in Spain and other parts of the world and how this is not a one off anymore and we should expect more rain bombs going forward and also droughts to continue to get worst as the warming of our planet gets worst.

 

According to research, every degree of warming that the planet gets, we will get an additional 7% of moisture from the Ocean that goes into the atmosphere, it also pulls the moisture out of the ground equally and causes more drought and therefore higher increase of wildfires and food shortages worldwide.

 

The intensity is intensifying, the acceleration is accelerating, this reminds of the scene in the Titanic movie that the Titanic can stay afloat with 4 compartments breach but not five, the fifth compartment of earth is about to be breached and at that point this system will sink.
