I wonder who chaperoned them while they were dating...🤔

It will be good for him... I recalled how beneficial it was for a brother—who served as a missionary and a member of the branch committee in Brazil, Brother Fred Wilson—to marry Sister Juanita after his dear wife, Sister Grace, passed away.

Beautiful Sister.

I read somewhere that people who were very happy in their previous marriages are the ones who remarry the fastest, to rediscover that happiness. Whether it's true or not, it's a private, intimate matter.

May Jehovah bless them!

I know what you mean.   The only married and anointed couple I am aware of was Martin and Gertrud Poetzinger.

However, there must have been lots of married and anointed couples pre-1935.

I happen to be blessed (merely by coincidence) to have known three married couples who were both of the annointed.

Two of the couples were ten to twenty years older than I am. The third couple was within four years of my age. I am 82. I was born in 1944.

All of these couples were very loving and zealous worshippers of Jehovah. Their dedication to him was obvious to all who knew them.

One of the couples had been VERY close friends to my wife's family for close to 20 years before I met my wife. They knew her since she was extremely young and wanted the best for her. When she decided to take me as her husband, they took special care to help both of us when we were so young and first married. I still feel a special bond to them, and know many of their descendants.

Strictly by coincidence, I have been blessed to know about a dozen of the annointed while they were serving their life course on earth.

Every one of them had a very special, intense, interest in advancing the interests of Jeovah's Kingdom. Of course, as different individuals, they exhibited this interest in various ways. No matter how they demonstrated this interest, it was obvious to anyone who observed them closely.

I consider it a special privilege to have known them.

Thanks,

Jim

I know it's not sinful, but the idea that I could devote decades of my life to someone and be replaced in a year is so devastating...

Within a year. Surely they dated a few months before their wedding day..

Some people mourn and move on quickly, I guess. That's not a personality I would like, but it's not my life, either 🤷🏽‍♀️

I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed 😐

Susan's dementia likely brought many challenges. Whether we agree or not, posting his new wife's name and pictures here isn't wise. Let's protect her identity for her safety

I am married to my best friend. We have a wonderful relationship and I love him dearly. I have told him and I sincerely hope that if I should "go" first, he finds someone special and gets married! I hate the thought of him being alone. No doubt Br Lett and his former wife also had these discussions. I am thrilled he found a 'another' special someone to share his life. 😍

Because 🤔  Why disappointed?

If you can’t stand it anymore then kneel.

2 Chron 6:13b-14 And he knelt down in front of all the congregation of Israel and spread his hands out to the heavens,  14 and he said: “O Jehovah the God of Israel, there is no God like you in the heavens or on the earth….

I will mention again the case of the brother I referred to earlier—Brother Fred Wilson, who was a missionary and a member of the Branch Committee. His first wife (who passed away) left a letter for him, suggesting that he look up a particular sister who had been a Bible student of theirs while they were serving as missionaries in Chile. Some time after her death, this brother was away from Bethel for about two weeks. He returned from a trip to Chile already married to this sister, who at the time was serving as a special pioneer. I believe this remarriage was very good for him; it was quite evident. In my opinion, he likely lived about 10 years longer than he would have had he not remarried.

I don't know all of Sis Lett's disabilities, but as a caretaker to a spouse things may change. The romantic feelings that you had earlier while dating and in the marriage may have  disappeared. You love them but not the same. You are devoted and take care of them but the feelings shift, I think that's natural. My mother takes care of my dad who had a stroke. He's not the same man as he was. He doesn't communicate like he used to, he spends a lot of time just focused on tv. But she takes care of him. She's devoted. His response to her when she is affectionate is not even the same.

I personally am glad that Bro. Lett has found someone. I don't think it diminishes the love he had/has for his wife.
