What Comes After Iron and Clay?

My father sent me this video a few days ago.

 

 

 

My dad's usually pretty good at spotting clickbait and half-truths. Speaking for myself, I can't really fault anything this video says as untrue. I don't know much about the collapse of the Spanish Empire, but what I know of history agrees with everything else in this video. If anyone can give me specifics to prove something wrong, please do so.

 

I decided to share it, because today I woke up to these headlines:

Now, let's look at this through the JW lens.

 

The 'Great Image' prophecy of Daniel says that the 'Iron and Clay' will be the last great power of the world before the End comes. But I also recall that the prophecy concerns Empires that had a direct bearing on God's people. I can't help but wonder if this view of history is telling us how close the end is, or just how close the end of 'dominant world empires' is.

 

Having written that, the answer is obvious: Both.

Both. 

 

The Bible is clear that there is nothing after the feet of iron mixed with clay. That is where the rock of God's Kingdom strikes the image. The Bible said "in the days of those kings..." No mention was made of any kings yet to come before God's Kingdom is established.  Likewise, Revelation states in symbolic language that the Anglo-American World Power will still be dominant at Armageddon. 

 

Logically any supposed world power that would replace the Anglo-American World Power would also have direct bearing on God's people. Therefore this supposed world power would appear in prophecy. We knew from prophecy that the League of Nations would be replaced, so it's understandable that we would know from prophecy to expect one more world power to replace Anglo-America if that was the case. 

 

So, based on our understanding of the Bible, Armageddon will come before the complete collapse of the Anglo-American power.

The US isn't the only country facing collapse, thanks to the Japanese Bond Market crash. Hopefully their reaction will be to rally together within the UN to try to save themselves.

Trump has said if his administration doesn't win the tariff case at the Supreme Court, it's the end of the country.  I think so too.

If I remember correctly, the US spends one trillion dollars (Austin Powers) just on the interest of the debt each year.

Apparently this crisis is related to a snap election scheduled for February 8.  A snap election is usually due to a vote of no confidence in the incumbent.

 

Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has proposed a massive $135 billion dollar spending plan and a suspension of the sales tax on food.

 

It sound like the platform Zohran Mamdani ran on and won in New York City.  Free bus rides and rent control.

 

This appeasement to keep the people sedated goes back to Rome's "bread and circus" .  Still works apparently.

We are definitely living in unprecedented times. Things will for sure get worse, but we'll need to watch to see how fast it happens.

By the way, strictly speaking about the video, it is not unfounded and has some basis on this topic, but I would take it with a grain or salt. Lots of people without real credentials are making history videos because they are a  "trending topic" on YouTube to get lots of views.

In fact, I saw and shared a very similar video that is now unavailable (

 

I have no doubt they use AI to generate a lot of the script/content. 

 

So basically, not saying it's wrong or unfounded but we really need to trust only in Jehovah's word and the organization.
