Kingdom halls without AC in Europe

Recommended Posts

Do you have AC in your Kingdom Hall ?

With climate change and 4 heat waves here in Europe  it becomes more difficult to attend meetings when there is no AC

Are you suffering too from the heat ?

We are fortunate to have air conditioning in our Kingdom Hall, and given the brutal heatwaves hitting Europe—and so many other regions around the globe dealing with record-breaking temperatures—it really makes a world of difference.

My heart goes out to all the brothers and sisters worldwide who are sitting through meetings in high heat without AC; it definitely takes extra perseverance!

On a lighter note: Do you know who would appreciate AC very much in the new world?

Until recently, our two-story Kingdom Hall had ceiling fans. After submitting an application to the Bethel office for renovation, we had air conditioners installed on both the first and second floors. Now we can practically freeze ourselves while listening to the program and the prepared talks. :lol1:

A lesson indeed for us,

It seems like sometimes Jehovah may give us what we ask for just so that we can realize for ourselves that we don't really need it 😂

We have AC here at our kingdom hall; it is very good to have especially during this heatwave, but it can also be very drafty around your legs. Worth putting up with.

No AC, just ceiling fans.  Open windows and doors to let in fresh air, although in hot weather it doesn't help much - just let in the hot air.

All windows and doors should be closed and locked 25 mins before the meeting start, so probably you mean that you open everything much before the meeting start?

Interesting point you make, Igor, I don't believe that this is something our brothers would normally do until the time of the meeting start. We have brothers at the entrance to open for those arriving after the start of the meeting. We don't have opening windows in our hall.

Hm, that is interesting, I thought that these instructions apply worldwide, but probably not. We have to close and lock all doors and windows 25 minutes before the meeting at latest (usually it happens even earlier than that). They also stay closed and locked during and after the meeting. Brother that is responsible for that unlocks and allows others to enter/exit kingdom hall. Not only that, locked are even doors in the fence at the entrance to KH premises (but these are locked only during the meeting and there is no impact to parking because we park outside KH premises). These are specific instructions we received from the branch and it is like this for some time already (it started few months after shooting attack in Germany). Good AC is therefore really required here.

Open windows and doors as soon as the attendants brothers arrive.  The main entrance is unlocked and open until the meeting starts.  There is a brother on security at the entrance.  Then the main door is locked, and gates closed.  Our new hall will have AC, but no windows and only the fire exit door in the auditorium.

The AC also handles the heating in the winter.
