Anyone see any movies lately without violence and immorality?

Recommended Posts

I want to mention a movie I watched the other nite. It was called Magic on Belle Island with Morgan Freeman. It was about a writer who lost his interest in writing after his wife passed away. He stays in a house for the summer that is a summer cottage in his family and thru people he gets back his imangination and desire to write. Not one bit of violence or immorality.. Amazing huh!!!!!

Hello Sister Carol. My second to the oldest big sister is named Carol. Thank you for the movie suggestion. That is amazing because though I have little time to watch a good movie, there is not much on that does not end up with me closing my eyes or turning it off. And then if the movie is good you want to see it to the end even though there has been a murder or fornication. I'm working on this.

I am now STUCK watching the Animal Planet series TOO CUTE! Those puppies and kittens are so disgustingly cute and adorable! And the narrator's voice gives a warning in the beginning that the show can become addictive it HAS! Last Saturday I watched an entire evening of cuteness and wanted more.

I don't watch too many movies, but I love a web site called "Library of Clean Reads" @ http://libraryofcleanreads.blogspot.com/

I know several sisters who are authors and have their books posted there. I'm sure there's more than the two I know, but you can take a look and see what you think.

Maybe there's a site for clean movies too. I'll check around. Sorry if this info has been posted somewhere else, I quickly scanned topics and didn't see it.

We use this for movie reviews, have for years.... when the kids were young and now I use it before I go to a movie myself. Helps me know exactly what's in the movie. Some say it is really too overboard but I like that it tells everything. You can look up any movie by title, even ones you may want to rent from years ago are on here.

We got a movie out in the weekend called " big miracle" or something similar - had drew Barrymore and a couple of other recognisable actors about a pod of whales stuck in the ice in Alaska. -teased on true story - not too bad a movie to watch with family - I didn't notice any sex , violence, bad language was in recent release in New Zealand

Just want you to know, because of this post, I watched this movie on Netflix. It was very sweet! Thanks for recommending it.

The Fox and the Child, 2007. A French film starring Bertill Noel-Bruneau. The English version is narrated by Kate Winslet.

This is a quiet and gentle film about a tomboy who wants to tame a fox. The story develop around the little girl who is fascinated by a fox she chances on as she is going to school one day. She loves the forest and is not afraid to patiently wait for her chance to get close to the vixen. Her success turns into a bitter-sweet realization that she was mistaking possession for love. There are some elements that might be difficult for the very young: one animal dies by being poisoned and there is a scene where the girl's fox jumps through a window and she thinks it is dead. The cinematography is stunning. The closing song "Windy Whistle" is ethereal.

Venus, did you see the Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies? I have two older ones Duece and Lia. They are 9 & 10. New girl is ten weeks now. Great show. I'll try and get some pics for everyone

We saw "Parental guidance" with Billy Crystal and Bette Midler and enjoyed it a lot! :)

Some friends of mine at the KH just saw that and said it was a great movie.

Think I'm going to have to see it myself.

I saw it too. It was really good! Loved the part where Billy Crystal was talking about Twitter / Tweeting!

Two of my favorites are "The Straight Story" So many life lessons and it touched me to see the determination of old people. Reminded of my Dad (great guy) The second one is "Homecoming" starring Anne Bancroft. (There are other movies by that name) It has to the one with Anne B. I really liked both of those movies.

Hi Carol, noticed your other name- Bionic woman was what my nickname was back in the early 70's. I had a few like Mithochondria when playing volleyball, and Morris the Cat because I never refused to eat. lol

Anyway, I just saw movie, "The boy in the Stripped Pajamas", sad but moving....

many thanks sister Carol for posting this topic and all brothers and sisters who have posted on this topic. Choosing clean movies has been my problem such that I stopped watching these other movies apart from those published by Watch Tower, but now I have listed all the movies mentioned in this discussion so that I can try searching for them.
