I don't really care for these types of articles either. To the world, when they see one of their celebrities claiming to be a Witness, they make that individual our spokesman. Then if they ever do anything the world finds questionable, they brush all of us in that one stroke. Or I've encountered comments like "Oh yeah ****** is a Witness, I saw him/her blah blah blah"; "See, Witnesses are blah blah blah, too". "Oh great, now do I just let that stand or do I speak up and try to differentiate between this individual's choice and Jehovah's organization".

What I've always appreciated about Brother Graham, Sister Graves, Sister Levert and others is that you DON"T see/hear them. They're quietly serving Jehovah despite their prior celebrity or the celebrity of a family member.

If she's an active Publisher, great, but I don't think these articles help us stand out as different from Christendom. Also, when your job puts you in the spotlight, you probably don't have a lot of say about what's published about you in the world's media. I guess that would be another thing to take into consideration when you're making career choices.

Sister Teresa Graves died a long time ago as a result of a fire when she saved ( or tried to ? ) her non-witness mother, who was living with her.

Sister Graves quit acting when she started pioneering.

You never really hear about the oldest Jackson girl ( who maybe older than me -since Michael was 1 year younger than my wife -my wife was acquainted with the Jacksons-40 years ago- same assemblies. )

Consciousness, that annoying time between naps!

Well the world admires personalities so they obviously focus on celebrities. If this girls is our sister excellent she can witnesss to individuals we probably dont have access to... it always makes me laugh when they describe the celebrity as a "devout JWs" (by which they mean keeps most of their clothes on in public and has never been photographed drunk) but we think "All Witness are devout, maybe they mean she has 20 years full time service behind her and is currently serving in where the need is greater"

Great point of view!!!! Let's hope that's exactly true. I lived in CA for many years and heard about how Brother Graham and others are able to do just that. I heard that Brother Graham witnessed to Stevie Wonder on occasion, certainly someone we would never run into in our house to house territories.

In addition, my mom's older brother is very wealthy in AZ and insisted that there were no witnesses living in his gated community. He was willing to take my mom to the Kingdom Hall near his home. My mom had opportunity to meet several friends in the congregation and pointed out their homes, in my uncle's gated community. He was stunned that "they" would be living "there".

It's just like Jesus said, the Good News is being preached for a witness, in the entire inhabited earth, even among the wealthy and prominent.

I enjoy reading HuffPost (tu)but I do not go into their Religious section(td). Or, if I see anything controversial my eyes will glance over it without reading it. Silly or meaningless things make my eyes hurt anyway! More importantly, I would never ever consider citing an article for the good (or bad) when there will be apostate writings towards the end of the article! We have had many articles from the FDS on just that subject. Now this may be a slick way of infiltrating such writings because it is always interesting to see how the brothers will leave the reference site and watch what happens. ENOUGH ALREADY! Do not leave such references! There are many sensitive/weaker ones who will read such comments and take them to heart why leave the invitation open however well meaning if in fact well meaning intentions are there?!

I don't see a problem with the article Greg. It is the WORLD that is making a big deal out of this person in the lime-light being a Witness for Jehovah not any of the Brothers and Sisters. We can appreciate that inspite of the fame the world puts on them they do their best to put Jehovah first. That would be a lot more pressure than I endure.

I know the original manager of Paul Revere and the Raiders who has served Jehovah faithfully for 70+ years. He witnessed to the band members, two became elders and the one surviving elder is still serving Jehovah 40+ years later. One died. During the years the band toured Europe, they would smuggle literature into countries that were under ban. Over the years they have had many oppurtunities to witness to the rich and famous.

I had never heard of this Model before tonight.

I was googling for an apo &came accross her news post.

Its amazing when you find out who else is a Witness.

I find its good for the ministry. People do think differently.

They class us as boring & no fun but when you say some

Have been Police a. Officer. Drs. Laywers. Then you can say Tennis

Stars & now Models or Musicians.

I use to call on a guy who wrote Music for George Benson. He spike

How George would oreach to him after the show.

Jehovah uses alsorts to reach all hearts.

Coco Rocha doesn't know that some of her poses are based on illuminati demonic imagery like fingers over the one eye which signifies the 666 and eye of Horus or the all seeing eye found on the back of the One dollar bill. She has stated that she has worldly friends and promote worldly events and causes such as raising money for the Syrian refugees for a worldly friend. She has done TV shows displaying fashions she owns personally going against the Bible principle of "showy display of one's means of life."-1 John 2:16.She has modeling pics with illuminati demonic images and her modeling outfits are at times immodest like very short dresses and skirts and see through and plunging necklines. Not a very good example of a true JW.She needs to know what the modeling industry is having her do before the end comes.

I do wish those in the business and entertainment industry and who choose to do things contrary to Jehovah's will would refrain from referring to themselves as JW's....however please show caution when it comes to groups such as the illuminati. They base many fictitious beliefs off of rumors and scams that have no basis or are made up from personal feelings....

I live in a temporary reality- awaiting the day I wake up to life in the real world!

We will do well to remember that Jehovah is the one who reads our hearts and will be judging all of us when that time comes. Only Jehovah knows the heart and people's true intentions.

"Stop judging by the outward appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”(John 7:24)

Fame is a tough mistress to give up.  Much like wealth and riches is tough to give up.  In themselves its not wrong to be liked or have money;  aslong as you don't make bad spiritual choices over a pursuit of them.  But i'm glad i don't have those things.  much more difficult to learn and stay humble with them.

That's an interesting story I hadn't heard. Thanks for sharing.
