  1. If this a conflict? Today’s text is based on the WT 11/15/15 10) Jesus showed insight by looking beyond the obvious and discerning why people acted in a certain way. On one occasion, some of his listeners in Galilee appeared eager to follow him. (John 6:22-24) But Jesus, who could read hearts, discerned that the people were more interested in physical food than in what he taught. (John 2:25) He saw what was wrong, patiently corrected them, and explained how they could improve.—Read John 6:25-27. From the WT April 2017 (yesterdays Study article): 11) First, humility will move us to acknowledge that we do not have all the facts. No matter how much we know of a situation, only Jehovah can read a person’s figurative heart. (1 Sam. 16:7) We know Jesus also reads hearts. Why does yesterdays article say only Jehovah can read hearts?
  2. Here is a video of the award ceremony. After it plays in Russian, it will replay in English. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8C1jjCPiiiY
  3. I hope its fake news also ... but, many sources seem to be repeating this story as fact. http://www.startribune.com/russia-s-supreme-court-upholds-ban-on-jehovah-s-witnesses/418530883/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/russias-supreme-court-upholds-ban-on-jehovahs-witnesses/2017/04/06/6b7432ac-1ae8-11e7-8598-9a99da559f9e_story.html?utm_term=.dc050c453baf http://www.startribune.com/russia-s-supreme-court-upholds-ban-on-jehovah-s-witnesses/418530883/

  6. I agree. Shot that idea down! Unless, one is not mature, of course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I can imagine Walt Disney reaction when he hears about this in the New World. I don't think he would be impressed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. You were asking about partakers. My comment only was concerning the single statistic of 'partakers'. Our activity has nothing to do with the number of partakers. The other numbers are incredibly interesting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. i believe we learned in the 70's if we were to teach someone to sing, we must first buy them a Coke. I would be happy to try that ... but, I'm sorry, i cannot help you. If I were to try it wold be a matter of the 'blind leading the blind'!
  10. It's been mentioned before on other posts: The number of partakers is simply a number. Going up or down is not of any concern. The number could be very accurate or completely wrong. In the end Jehovah will decide. Personally, I spend about 30 seconds on that portion of the yearbook. It means as much to my spiritual life as knowing how many people were baptized happen to have blue eyes.
  11. People get strange ideas sometimes. I think I would just smile and back away from that conversation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. There is no 'first one'. Some congregation will begin with the one with the Branch Representative and others will have the other one first.
  13. I believe the new reported it as the deadliest mass shooting by a single shooter. These horrific examples were more than one shooter. In any case, another example of the times we are enduring and the need for the goal we focus on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks for the link, it works great. Could you please list the steps (what is clicked) from jw.org to get to this are?
  15. The limitations they pay for major services and the caps on dental insurance usually make it a poor value for most consumers. Crunch the numbers by adding up the maximum potential benefit, compare that to you cost, and make a decision. It's really a personal choice but I see insurance as something for things that could be financial devastating rather than a big financial inconvenience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
