  1. I did that, JWLibrary doesn’t show up. Even in the 3 dots section. I have a 3 year old iPad Pro, updated. I used Chrome. 🤷🏻‍♀️I don’t see JWLibrary as an option from my Files folder either. I must be doing something off. Technically challenged 🙄😏
  2. I was hoping someone could help me learn how to get a book from JW.org into JWLibrary. Or from another app. I did it with my pioneer book a few years ago. I have a different iPad. Now I don’t remember how I got it there. I think I had an app for that but I don’t see it now.
  3. Another iOS I am using now with my iPad Air 2 is multi-tasking screen. It is so cool! I can pull over and have other screens open. At the hall with the CO visit, I could take notes and look up scriptures thru JW.org at the same time. Look up a word definition without leaving my notes or literature, or like Sunday, pull up the shipwreck of Wilhelm Gustloff in Wikipedia without leaving my Watchtower. You gotta love it!
  4. I use an iPad and take notes the old fashioned way! I love the iPad for that reason. I can hand write and highlight the way I want not a forced highlight or underline. My congregation is full of android users, only a few of us with iPads. But if someone is sitting near me, when the meeting is over they are asking me "how do you do that?" I use one app called GoodNotes to take my notes on. I can add pictures, audio recording as I go. What's nice is, I take pictures of the speaker and demos, they are only on my notes and not loaded into my Photos album. My handwriting looks nice and smooth. Especially after my sister sent me a really cool sylus, Adonit Jot Script which pairs with GoodNotes. Then if I want to, I can convert my hand written notes into text. I had a Nexus 7 in the beginning, then both that and the iPad. Got rid of the Nexus and now have an iPhone which syncs with my tablet, so everything I study on my tablet is on my phone for service if I want it. I haven't wanted to switch my note taking to keyboard, I use too many shortcuts.
  5. You can google that...Stuart Little lost painting...it was recently auctioned off for over $200,000 so in the news again.
  6. I thought I would share something I came across in the news that I was able to use as an illustration in my talk a couple weeks ago. I had the talk on the second question in the Bible introduction, the second part on how can we learn about God. I was going through some odd news stories and came across this one that I then used in my talk. In the early 1900's there was a painter from Hungary. his name was Bereny, he painted avant-garde. One of his paintings disappeared in the 20's, last seen and photographed at an art fair. Not stolen just disappeared. fast forward December 2009, an art historian was watching the movie Stuart Little with his daughter. During one of the scenes in the Littles living room he saw the painting on the wall behind the couch. Recognized it as the lost painting, took a while to locate it and identify it by other artist, etc. He had only seen the faded black and white photo taken in the 1920s. I asked how did he do that? by studying the frauds? No, by studying the artist, his other works, etc. Also, when he finally talked to the studio director who bought the painting, she had found it in an antique store and bought it for $500. All these years, no one recognized the value of the painting, even the so called experts at the antique store. So not everyone will recognize the truth either, or its value. Using the scriptures to go along with the story worked really well. I used Heb 10:24 and tied in with him getting other art historians to help verify his find. I did this with more "word conservation" and only 4 min and 56 seconds...a record for me. But this was a fun news story that I have been able to use with some of my return visits/studies as well.
  7. I did the same thing. In the updated JWLibrary it showed an update on the New Song icon, it downloaded the lyrics sheet. So I went online and downloaded the music. Then tonight I was going to show a sister at the meeting and the icon for the lyrics showed an update again. It did it and then I opened it, it was gone. She looked at me like I was crazy...No! Really! It was there! It's a beautiful song.
  8. I have Equipt, and I like using it with other apps. I think it was worth the price. And I feel that when a brother puts time and effort into making an app like that, keeping it updated etc, it's worth the bit I paid for it. He did an excellent job. I did get an update the first of the year saying it would be phased out. He was going to remove it from the App Store and at some point stop. This was based on changes etc. I will miss it when it is gone. But as the JW Library gets better...and the update this week was incredible, we will need fewer "filler" apps. I already deleted an app I was using for the children videos since I now have it in JW Library.
  9. I can't believe the new update on the JW library. All the different languages, the broadcasting clips, the videos, dramas, music. I selected Spanish to download and now, when I click on the verse number and all the bibles come up on the side, the spanish shows up at the end. That is awesome. Not everything is available in Spanish, like the broadcasting and clips or videos yet, but some of the books and bible. I am having so much fun with it. It has a "what's New" tab to see updates. Amazing! What was weird was it showed an update to the new songs icon, and downloaded song number 139. Beautiful song. So I went on line and downloaded the music. But tonight, they both disappeared. No one at the hall had seen it. I don't have the lyrics now but still have the music. Someone jumped too quick I think! But I am so excited with the update!
  10. The neurologist gave him 3 prescriptions. I felt skeptical. I am skeptical of all DRs/meds anyway. Bad experiences. But, it wasn't my call. I am just grandma. But my thought was his symptoms aren't disease symptoms, they are damage symptoms. He died, and was without oxygen for quite some time. To treat them as disease symptoms seemed a bit... The strength training makes sense to me. Two of the prescriptions they read about and opted out. One he tried for a month. They were hoping it would calm the muscle spasms and help him get some sleep better. But after a month there wasn't any change in his symptoms but some added problems from the meds. He backed off and now is off. He starts the personal training in January. I think that is the key.
  11. I posted this on YouTube as Robinson Family the Doctors. They told our daughter they would like to do a follow up after he has done the training sessions. They want to bring for a visit the man who heard Alex say he was passing out, quickly jumped up and got him out of the pool and began CPR until the other guy/ supervisor of the hotel took over. They let him in the CCU to see Alex before he flew home, but Alex was in a comma still. Alex has never seen him. That would be very emotional if they do that.
  12. Two years ago I wrote a little about my grandson, at 16 years, had heart failure, of some sort. They are still not sure what actually happened. It began to "misfire" and stop. They were in La Joya California at a hotel. Quick action on the part of another client and two of the hotel employees, manager and owner, who did CPR until paramedics arrived about 15 minutes later, was enough to help save him. When they applied shock treatment his heart began to beat again. Because he had died for a few minutes he has some damage, physically mostly. He was in a coma several days, they implanted a defibrillator. After 3 months he was able to come home. He still struggles physically, but has had an incredible attitude about it. Someone for the show The Doctors researching found Alex's story and contacted my daughter to ask more questions and invited them to interview. They also had a Neurologist in LA examine him before which highlighted some physical issues that was now causing him pain, fatigue and problems. So that was really good, as he can now work on that. We found out recently that they are going to air the show December 17th. I thought it may interest some, if you have access to watch at show, CBS, The Doctors. I believe on the west coast, California it shows around 2/2:30. Each segment isn't really long, about 15 minutes, but is interesting. I think they are focusing more on knowing and learning CPR and being willing to help in an emergency. Alex would have died, completely, if they hadn't done that. Something had gotten through with their diligence, enough so that when the paramedics applied shock, it began to beat again. Alex is doing much better. He had been Reg Aux for several years and began Reg pioneering in September. He was also made a Ministerial Servant in September. Of course none of that is highlighted on The Doctors show. I haven't seen it yet. One sister here teased that they held it off for their feel good Christmas Special...yikes! I wouldn't doubt it, it took a while for it to air.
  13. what are you trying to say? That we can't believe what we read on the Internet? Oh great!
  14. I saw the app in iTunes, and read a few raves about it. But I am not really seeing how it would benefit me and my study. especially for $7. Maybe I am not getting the point of it over...say...Notability or GoodNotes. But I am open, share more when you know more.
  15. I have an Apple for my meetings and personal study. I recently got a Nexus 7 for service, showing the videos and such. I would like to be able to study the Bible Teach book in a program but have problems with finding an app that works like the apps I am used to. I tried the free version of Moon reader and couldn't see how I could transfer my hand written notes into the book as I study. Will the pro version allow you to do this? I have tried several apps but not finding anything I am comfortable with. Very frustrating. I was happy to learn a new operating system but it has been very frustrating for me. My iPad was too big to take in the ministry, I couldn't afford an iPad mini. The Nexus is fine but getting apps to do what I do on my iPad isn't happening. Even to show the videos I had to use like 3 different apps to download, set up playlists and then play. I haven't studied the book yet cuz I just haven't found an app to really do it well. The latest one my handwriting looks like a first graders. I would pay for MoonReader pro if I thought it would do what I wanted.
