Ques for the techie's here lol

Recommended Posts

We recorded part of the assembly on our smartphone for a sister in our group that had the flu and could not go to the convention.

She has a laptop though and knows how to do basic functions on it.

What is the best and easiest way to have the audio transferred from the phone to the laptop?   I was thinking maybe using Dropbox - uploading the audio then providing her with the link?

Ask your COBE for the CD that contains the recording of the convention. He should have one that this sister can borrow.  I think that'd be easiest, LOL

I am not sure he recorded it though.

The COBE does not record it, the convention overseer has it recorded and distributes a copy to each congregation assigned to that convention. They are usually the best quality as they are made right on the sound console for the convention.

COBE. Coordinator of the body of elders. Formerly presiding overseer.

I also never knew of this CD recording until a couple of years ago I missed a convention day. An elder let us have it for a few days.

But not just anybody who misses the convention for any reason should get it. Only those who were sick or bed ridden...

And you are not supposed to make a copy, but only listen to it. That's what they told us anyway...

I record my own -however I use the Williams receiver ( lower frequency than normal FM radio ) and record from it. This year I went to Belleville, MI ( not Ontario ) and forgot a regular FM radio ( Williams not used in the States ) and their sound is centralized ( comes from area of the 2 video projectors for the 2 large screens ) thus my quality is poor.

Last year the orginal cd was missplaced ( not returned ) and COBE asked me for a copy of my recording, which isn't quit as clear as original, but suffiecient.

Have programs going back to 2005, ( when I got my first little mp3/recorder ) -not to be uploaded. I used to record and give a copy to COBE -before the regular offical recording started. Our local Assembly Hall had a good sound system put in almost 2 years ago, during our renovation-with recording/burning capablities -it sure is great -plus even without the Williams receiver -sound is equally distributed throughout the main Hall, bathrooms and foyer. With and without a direct radio recording -the babies come through loud and clear, even on officail recordings direct from sound system.

Consciousness, that annoying time between naps!

Can you plug a Williams directly into a tablet?
