Keep meddling HARLOT....

Pope Francis has written to Vladimir Putin criticising world leaders for standing by while a "senseless massacre" unfolded in Syria.

In a letter sent on Sept 4 to Mr Putin in his role of host of the G20 conference, and published on Thursday, Francis wrote: "It is regrettable that, from the very beginning of the conflict in Syria, one-sided interests have prevailed and in fact hindered the search for a solution that would have avoided the senseless massacre now unfolding."

Through Mr Putin, Francis appealed to the G20 leaders gathering in Russia: "The leaders of the G20 cannot remain indifferent to the dramatic situation of the beloved Syrian people which has lasted far too long, and even risks bringing greater suffering to a region bitterly tested by strife and needful of peace.

"To the leaders present, to each and every one, I make a heartfelt appeal for them to help find ways to overcome the conflicting positions and to lay aside the futile pursuit of a military solution."

He added: "Rather, let there be a renewed commitment to seek, with courage and determination, a peaceful solution through dialogue and negotiation of the parties, unanimously supported by the international community. Moreover, all governments have the moral duty to do everything possible to ensure humanitarian assistance to those suffering because of the conflict, both within and beyond the country's borders."

Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi denied claims made on Thursday by Argentinian newspaper Clarin that Francis had contacted President Assad of Syria urging him to halt attacks in Syria. He also denied reports made by the paper that Francis had personally contacted the US White House to urge the calling off of any planned attack on Syria.

Foreign ambassadors to the Vatican were summoned on Thursday to the Vatican to be briefed by Dominique Mamberti, the Vatican's Secretary for Relations with States, on the Vatican's appeals to halt hostilities in Syria.

Pope Francis' push for a peaceful solution in Syria includes a four hour vigil to be held in St Peter's Square on Saturday evening. The Vatican will station 50 confessors around the square. Bishops' conferences around the world have announced local vigils.

The No. 2 at the Vatican's justice and peace office warned earlier this week that military action in Syria could spark a world war. In a tweet this week, Francis wrote: "War never again! Never again war!"

Pope Francis, who is a Jesuit, has been backed in his criticism of a military strike on Syria by the head of the Jesuits, Father Adolfo Nicolas.

In an interview with the Independent Catholic News, posted on September 4, Nicolas said a strike would be “an abuse of power”.

"I cannot understand who gave the United States or France the right to act against a country in a way that will certainly increase the suffering of the citizens of that country, who, by the way, have already suffered beyond measure,” he said.

In a stinging attack on the White House, he said, “The US has to stop acting and reacting like the big boy of the neighborhood of the world. This leads inevitably to abuse, harassment and bullying of the weaker members of the community.

“We, Jesuits, support 100% the Holy Father and wish with all our hearts that the threatened attack on Syria does not take place,” he said.

That will go down well.....why didn't the Pope write a letter to Hitler condemning the senseless massacre of the Jews (and JWs)....too late to get a conscience now.  How many wars has the Catholic Church been involved in throughout the centuries?

From the Guardian:

"In the latest salvo in a growing anti-war movement within the Vatican, Francis called on world leaders to seek a peaceful solution to the crisis.

Syria is not officially on the agenda of the G20 summit but Francis urged world leaders to see the conflict as, among many things, an obstacle to economic development.

"Without peace, there can be no form of economic development," he wrote. "Violence never begets peace, the necessary condition for development."

The international deliberations over Syria have led the Vatican to flex its diplomatic muscle in recent days.

The Argentinian pontiff used his Angelus blessing on Sunday to insist: "It is never the use of violence that leads to peace."

Later in the week, he sent a series of tweets reinforcing his stance, one of them declaring, in its English version: "War never again! Never again war!"

On Saturday evening, the efforts will come to a climax with a prayer vigil for peace led by Francis in St Peter's Square. The vigil, which is expected to last until 11pm, will be open to all people of "good will", the pope said, whether they are Catholics, Christians, people of different religions or no religion.

He also called for a day of fasting for peace around the world."

If it makes me sick to see them sticking their nose in to political affairs, I wonder how the "kings of the earth" feel.

WT 2012 2/1 p 3

Events You Are Soon to See Happen

Prophecy 1. The Bible says that the nations will issue a significant declaration of “peace and security.” They may think that they are on the cusp of solving major problems. However, the events that follow this statement will be anything but peaceful.—1 Thessalonians 5:1-3.

Prophecy 2. Next, various governments will decide to move against the world’s religious organizations. In the Bible, these governments are symbolized by a wild beast; and the world’s false religions, by a woman who rides the back of the beast. (Revelation 17:3, 15-18) The symbolic beast will unwittingly do God’s bidding by destroying religions that falsely claim to represent God.

In symbols, the apostle John describes the drama this way: “The ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire. For God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought.”—Revelation 17:16, 17.

Prophecy 3. Following this successful attack on false religion, Satan will marshal the nations for an assault on those who worship Jehovah God.—Revelation 7:14; Matthew 24:21.

I think that is BEFORE the great tribulation rather.

Nov. 15, 2013 study Wt pg 12-13 -paragraphs 9-14  call of Peace & Security Then sudden destruction of Babylon -which is start of tribulation -timing - from our standpoint - maybe the cry is start of tribulation because destruction is immediately after. Unfortunately I would be speculating on timing  - let us just say about the time of the start of tribulation. Let us also stay awake, as article states.

Ooh can you imagine how that would go?

"All Catholics a forbidden to fight for their country or any other country or risk excommunication ", the pope

That would be awesome! Then have every church say the same  that would send off a cry of "peace and security" never heard before. And the result of that would surely be governments wiping out religion as quick as possible.

Oh the possibilities. Thanks for the post.

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

I just read that Iran wants a say in this, the new elected President wants to be opened minded with the West, and the U.S.  He is going to make a speech at the U.N. gathering later this month or October.  He wants to modernize Iran, and Iran to get along with its neighbors, including perhaps Israel.  He got support and blessings from the Higher Cleric in charge.

Iran's foreign minister posts 'Happy Rosh Hashanah' greeting to Jews

Mohammad Javad Zarif continues an apparent online strategy conveying warmer relations with Israel.

In what can only be viewed as a notable departure from the country's recent stance towards Israel, the Iranian government has tweeted its greetings to Jews celebrating their new year.  Jews are today celebrating Rosh Hashanah, a moveable feast. Marking the occasion, Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Islamic Republic's foreign minister, tweeted: "Happy Rosh Hashanah."

Christine Pelosi - daughter of Nancy Pelosi, the minority leader in the US House of Representatives - responded with a reminder of Iran's alleged Holocaust denial. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the country's president until this year, notoriously said that the atrocities of the Holocaust were exaggerated and that the "Israeli regime" should be "wiped from the map."  Marking an even more ostentatious rejection of the former leadership, Mr Zarif -  a US-educated career diplomat - replied: "Iran never denied it. The man who was perceived to be denying it is now gone. Happy New Year."

The tweets are apparently part of a recent Twitter campaign by the leadership under newly installed President Hassan Rouhani.

President Rouhani himself tweeted yesterday: "As the sun is about to set here in Tehran I wish all Jews, especially Iranian Jews, a blessed Rosh Hashanah."

Aww, yes, you said in your former post "in the current WT"... but in september there is nothing about it, the only thing I had in mind is what Fee bee posted. I remember the study of the WT concerning the links between the events and the five pictures in the magazine. But apparently you received this famous WT of november.

I can't wait for thursday !

"O the depth of God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How unsearchable his judgments are and beyond tracing out his ways are!"

November 15 2013 WT para 14:

Following the proclamation of “Peace and security!” political elements of Satan’s system will suddenly turn on false religion and wipe it out. Never again will Babylon the Great be seen! Surely it is

worth waiting patiently for such momentous events.—Rev. 18:8, 10.

The Bible does tell us the destruction of Babylon will be sudden, swift, shocking - even to us!  It will follow closely on the heels of the proclamation of Peace and Security.

I dont have the link now, but i read that Russia's push for the deal w Syria will put the chemical weapons under international or possibly even direct UN control. That might be the start of giving the UN some real power.... Also read that Russia is now ready to broker a similar deal between USA and Iran. Iran has a new president that seems to be reaching out to US and even Israael, wishing Jews a happy Rosh Hashanah the other day. The whole middle east is stirred up w arab spring and uprisings. Even Israel and Palestine may have some kind of deal worked out w the help of John Kerry. Maybe they can finally make peace and security if middle east is miraculously fixed....
