I also just noticed when I scrolled down...they are asking for ones to "Join the Conversation" and "Which wish is your favorite?"

 

Do you think that is how they determine who they choose...besides the 25% from the voting?

 

If so, they encourage everyone to make comments on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube...or make a comment there on the site.

 

Just a thought...if anyone wants to do that.  I personally don't have any of those accounts.

I've been sharing from there on my facebook / twitter.

 

I don't know how much will weigh in on their decisions and when I did my description of why we need employees, I didn't want to put too much because I don't want my current customers to read about our struggles.

 

Here's what I just posted:

 

It’s very interesting to read through the initiatives that many small businesses have taken and I wish them all the best. However, my vote goes to THE MOP SQUAD. Why? Not only because Colleen is a personal friend but in particular because I’m convinced that the community needs her services and stands to gain from her wish.

 

For starters, THE MOP SQUAD is scrupulously honest – as a recent, unexpected WSIB audit was able to verify! …With her bookwork all beautifully in order thanks to QuickBooks software! ;-)

 

Secondly, because when THE MOP SQUAD says “clean”, they mean CLEAN! No superficial gloss over, but thorough, shiny, squeaky GREEN clean all the way to the corners! Green clean? Yes! Due to personal health issues Colleen can only use green products – and of course, everyone benefits as a result!

 

THE MOP SQUAD would dearly love to expand their business by hiring employees who share their vision – thus allowing more in the community to experience these same unique benefits of honesty and green clean. The prize money would provide just the capital they need to be able to pay the necessary payroll taxes, worker’s comp. and initial salary. So that’s another benefit we can add to the list – new job opportunities!

And what I really meant at the end was not, "If you share these values, please support Colleen by voting for THE MOP SQUAD. Thank you!" but rather, 'If you share these values, please support Colleen by giving THE MOP SQUAD the grand prize. Thank you!' Unfortunately, I couldn't very well say that, could I?!

 

Anyway, I always say, don't get your hopes up too high so that you don't end up disappointed. At the same time, there's no harm in trying!

 

The other day I read through the descriptions of former winners, and I couldn't help noticing that most of them had something to say about benefits to the community. So that's the slant I tried to give to what I wrote about your business!
