What is your job?

Recommended Posts

I worked in the food industry for more than 30 years. Two years ago it was really wearing me down, I worked hard, long hours. Was in constant pain, because now have arthritis among other aches and pains. I begged Jehovah to help me find a job that I did not have to work so hard. One day I was doing a catering job and was in so much pain, I was stressed out  because of coworkers. Anyway I remember walking down the hall and just crying and talking to Jehovah to get me out of there, two months later my prayers were answered. I work for a law firm now doing collections for a hospital. I thank Jehovah everyday........(I had no experience, learned everything in the year I have been there, and thankfully pioneering for 2 1/2 years.

I currently install and service irrigation. Part of the time I work for a Brother I have known for 40+ years installing new irrigation systems in new construction and the rest of the time I service the irrigation in some apartment complexes.

I used to install carpet and have also installed wallpaper for a living as well as working in a pizza restaurant.

I work in a historical library. We have old manuscripts, incunnabula, all kinds of documents and especially a lot of newspapers from the 18-20th centuries. We choose the ones that we consider most interesting or those which are more deteriorated and scan them in very high resolution so that they can be preserved. Many of them we publish in our digital library. I take care of the technical aspects as well as computer support.

I used to supervise large construction projects.

Now retired, but still keep to a tight schedule.

I take it easy Monday through Friday, but I still have the weekends off.

I am not sying I am Superman, I am only saying that nobody has ever seen Superman  and me in a room together.

at the moment, I am operator of water pumps in a coal mine (underground job    :D )

I live in a mining area

My father was a coal miner, as where my grandfather (mom's side), and two uncles. All I can say is "stay safe!" My father was once caught in a cave-in and buried for 24 hours (before I was born). When they found him, his helmet had a big gash in it. Years later he had the first of several brain aneurisms, and these lead to his early death (he was 51, I was 12). Sorry, I know this is off topic, but miners are close to my heart

Dear Sylvie, I am sorry to hear that. That must have been heartbreaking for a twelve year old. I am glad you share the love of our Heavenly Father, Jehovah. We have so much to hope for in the resurrection. My birth-certificate Dad drove the rails for a coal mining company (I probably stated that incorrectly). So, in one respect, I guess we can both say that we are coal miner's daughters.  :offtopic:  , but I was surprised to find out about a decade ago, that fossil fuels are considered to be mis-named. The understanding now is that they have been here, as such, since creation. That would make Jesus was the only new thing :)  No attacks please, I am aware that many things like those in the rock cycle are re-combining.
