Moon rising in the west ...

Well at least it appears to be so.

Coming home from the meeting tonight the New Moon is on the West Horizon rather than the East as it normally is. Looked very weird.

So I went online and I've found out that the new moon often appears earlier in the day and is in fact out during the sunlight hours - so as it get darker we see it setting in the West a lot earlier than normal. I'm okay with that explanation.

But can some clever brother or sister explain to me the science behind this please?

Every one in the world is getting so wound up that Jehovah will occasionally reverse the rotation of the earth to help unwind things a little, he usually does it at night so no one will notice, you should feel privileged that he allowed you to see the moon rise in the west...
