Putin signs law exempting holy books from extremism checks

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law which bans the recognition of holy books as extremist materials following a scandalous law suit in the summer. The Bible, Koran, Tanakh and Kangyur have been included in the check-proof list.

Features of the application of the legislation of the Russian Federation
countering extremist activities in respect of religious texts
The Bible, the Koran, and Tanah Gandzhur, their content and quotes from them can not be considered extremist.
Article 2
This Federal Law shall enter into force on the day of its official publication.
