Car mows down Pedestrians on Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas Strip was blocked off after a car ran down as many as 20 pedestrians Sunday night, authorities said.

The Strip was shut down near the Paris Las Vegas hotel, said Loy Hixson , the Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman

"Road closure on S. Las Vegas Blvd between Harmon and Flamingo Rd. while we investigate an injury crash," the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department tweeted.

Sounds like it may have been a woman driving drunk.   So sad.

LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) - A vehicle has hit a group of over 20 pedestrians on the sidewalk on the Las Vegas Strip. Unconfirmed reports say there have been multiple deaths.

The crash occurred in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino and Planet Hollywood, and has been listed as a mass casualty. 

The woman driving the offending vehicle had a small child with her, and drove away from the scene. She turned herself in to security at the Tuscany Suites & Casino.

Las Vegas Metro currently has Las Vegas Blvd closed between Harmon and Flamingo. 

The driver in the crash is undergoing a field sobriety test. Drunk driving is suspected.

A vehicle has hit a group of over 20 pedestrians on the sidewalk on the Las Vegas Strip. Officials say 36 have been injured and 1 has been killed in the accident. 11 victims have been transported to Sunrise, all in good condition. Four people were treated at the scene and released.

The rest have been transported to UMC trauma center. 6 of the victims were listed as in critical condition.
