Lovely part of Australia, Gabe! You'll love it! I'm also going to Cairns and surrounds in September. Cape tribulation is where the Daintree rainforest is, and you'll be crossing the Daintree River with crocs, on a pontoon ferry! So look out for them!

 

Cape Tribulation is where the rainforest meets the sea, a beautiful stretch of coastline and beaches. It was named so because Captain Cook came to grief here and nearly wrecked his ship. Must have been admiring the beauty of the place :)
