We just knew this thread was pretty flat so we were just giving it a lift...

I feel like such a heel for sidetracking this thread...

You know? Brother Tim and Richard? I would LOVE to meet your parents.

We'd love to introduce you after they are resurrected.

The only thing about moc soles, is sparks can land on top and stay. That in turn burns the threads holding them together.

Exactly...

One of the first things I did was put leather laces into new boots.

I use tie wire the very first four holes up. Real loose. Then use regular boot laces the rest of the way

Interesting. . I always preferred my boots real tight, didn't want my feet twisting around in them if I'm on a 6inch beam, 40 feet up..

Always tied the laces so there weren't any loops hanging out,  nothing to snag.

I tie mine in a square knot one set of holes down from top

First four holes up keeps strings from burning out

I love stilettoes ... the type you wear on your feet ..... and when I was younger I wore 6 inch heels everywhere.  Now I am old(er) and my legs, knees and other bits don't like them anymore but I really don't like flats so I compromise and wear 2 inch heels which are quite hard to get here,  When I was in England last year I went shoe shopping and came back with 4 pairs.  In fact, thinking back, I realise that every time I go I come back with a number of pairs.  Hmmm!!!! I only just realised that.  Interesting. Never thought of myself as a shoe-a-holic before.

Don't give up .. it's just around the corner.
