A bill was introduced early January that calls for the removal of the United States from the United Nations.

According to the Congress website, H.R. 193 -- known as the American Sovereignty Restoration Act -- was introduced to the House on January 3 and referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs.

While its official title says it seeks to end membership in the U.N., there are several other key components of the bill which include: ending the 1947 agreement that the U.N. headquarters will be housed in the U.S., ending peacekeeping operations, removing diplomatic immunity, and ending participation in the World Health Organization.

Should the bill pass,  the act and its amendments will go into effect two years after it has been signed.

I googled H.R. 193 and I found this comment on a site. Interesting...

"Now I could see Trump getting behind this, if it even makes it that far. Imagine that, a USA that acts in its own best interests, with emphasis on America first. Am I dreaming? Maybe, but keep these kinds of bills coming please!

Who needs that toothless UN anyhow?

The bill has like six co-sponsors so far, all republican- no surprise there I suppose.

And even if it does pass everything and become law, it still only takes effect after two years after signing. But still. This is an extremely important piece of legislation that if it becomes reality will put the final nail in the coffin of globalization. The establishment is getting attacked from all sides. It's like I have woken up to a different world. Nationalism is back in full force, and the world is terrified. "

I am trying to refresh my memory with all of the updates we've received in our literature. My understanding was the king of the South is the Anglo-American world power and that one more king would rise up after that?  So the attack by the King of the North being the same as the attack of Gog of Magog, this could get interesting! Hmm..wonder if the US and Russia could play a part... hmm...

This would end the UN, no country gives more $$ to it than the US.

This is correct. However, at the 2014 annual meeting, governing body member Geoffrey Jackson said in his talk about who attacks God's people that it appears that the attack of gog of magog and the attack of the king of the north are the same attack under different names but we can't say for certain. The reason it appears this way is because Ezekiel 38:15 says that gog will come "from the remotest parts of the north."

The United Nations is what turns on Babylon the Great, so things could start changing rapidly if that thing gets signed. For the Anglo-American power to still be in control, wouldn't they have to still be a part of the UN? Or will they perhaps split and be at odds?

The vast majority of religions, including a lot of Christendom, have their world headquarters outside of the United States.   Personally , I think taking out Catholicism would kill all of Christendom .  Even if it didn't, taking out Catholics and a majority of the other denominations would effectively kill religion in the United States.

If nothing else, the people would lose interest and abandon Babylon the Great.  Her waters would dry up.

...or it creates an entirely new situation as each member nation adds a pound of flesh to maintain the world peace organization. Suddenly everyone is fully vested in what is going on instead of just letting the USA do all the work...

I found this:

"In each case, the most recently submitted "American Sovereignty Restoration Act" bill has been referred to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and languished there without ever being passed or brought to a vote."

So, don't panic

The united nations is currently a fat cow, too lazy too do anything but feed. The threat of this could bring it to life and cause it to attack BTG.

Could also be that the "deathstroke" is just ahead of us, and that the recovery from it happens soon after. Our current understanding is that the death stroke was the liquidation of the League of Nations which was something of a precursor to the UN, though the USA were never part of the League of Nations. So basically the LoN was more or less a first step to the UN, but not did not receive a death-stroke inasmuch as that it was transformed into something bigger. In fact, the LoN was dissolved many months after the UN was founded.

In any case, the light keeps getting brighter...

No.   The League of Nations died.  It was a distinct and separate entity.

The League lasted for 26 years; the United Nations (UN) replaced it after the end of the Second World War on 20 April 1946 and inherited a number of agencies and organisations founded by the League.

[...]

As the situation in Europe escalated into war, the Assembly transferred enough power to the Secretary General on 30 September 1938 and 14 December 1939 to allow the League to continue to exist legally and carry on reduced operations. The headquarters of the League, the Palace of Nations, remained unoccupied for nearly six years until the Second World War ended.

At the 1943 Tehran Conference, the Allied powers agreed to create a new body to replace the League: the United Nations. Many League bodies, such as the International Labour Organisation, continued to function and eventually became affiliated with the UN. The designers of the structures of the United Nations intended to make it more effective than the League.

Robert Cecil, addressing the final session, said:

Let us boldly state that aggression wherever it occurs and however it may be defended, is an international crime, that it is the duty of every peace-loving state to resent it and employ whatever force is necessary to crush it, that the machinery of the Charter, no less than the machinery of the Covenant, is sufficient for this purpose if properly used, and that every well-disposed citizen of every state should be ready to undergo any sacrifice in order to maintain peace ... I venture to impress upon my hearers that the great work of peace is resting not only on the narrow interests of our own nations, but even more on those great principles of right and wrong which nations, like individuals, depend.

The League is dead. Long live the United Nations.

So at least according to Cecil, the LoN was dealt a deathstroke and revived.

But the seventh head of the beast in Revelation 13 that gets the death blow but heals is not about UN.

Instead the scarlet colored beast is the UN that Revelation 17:8 talks about:

The wild beast that you saw was, but is not, and yet is about to ascend out of the abyss,+ and it is to go off into destruction. And the inhabitants of the earth—those whose names have not been written in the scroll of life+ from the founding of the world—will be amazed when they see how the wild beast was, but is not, and yet will be present.

Oh? I was always under the impression that the death blow refers to the beast, not specifically to the anglo-american empire. Even more confused now.

It appears we're talking about two separate symbolic deaths or conditions of nonexistence both caused by world wars.

*** re chap. 28 pp. 190-191 Contending With Two Ferocious Beasts ***
The Death Stroke

13 Early in the Lord’s day, calamity strikes the wild beast. John reports: “And I saw one of its heads as though slaughtered to death, but its death-stroke got healed, and all the earth followed the wild beast with admiration.” (Revelation 13:3) This verse says that one head of the wild beast received a death stroke, but verse 12 speaks as though the entire beast suffered. Why is that? Well, the beast’s heads are not all in the ascendancy together. Each in its turn has lorded it over mankind, particularly over God’s people. (Revelation 17:10) Thus, as the Lord’s day begins, there is only one head, the seventh, acting as the dominant world power. A death stroke on that head brings great distress to the entire wild beast.

14 What was the death stroke? Later, it is called a sword stroke, and a sword is a symbol of warfare. This sword stroke, administered early in the Lord’s day, must relate to the first world war, which devastated and drained Satan’s political wild beast. (Revelation 6:4, 8; 13:14) Author Maurice Genevoix, who was a military officer during that war, said of it: “Everyone agrees in recognizing that in the whole history of mankind, few dates have had the importance of August 2, 1914. First Europe and soon after almost all humanity found themselves plunged into a dreadful event. Conventions, agreements, moral laws, all the foundations shook; from one day to the next, everything was called into question. The event was to exceed both instinctive forebodings and reasonable anticipations. Enormous, chaotic, monstrous, it still drags us in its wake.”—Maurice Genevoix, member of the Académie Française, quoted in the book Promise of Greatness (1968).

15 For the dominant seventh head of the wild beast, that war was a major disaster. Along with other European nations, Britain lost its young men in traumatic numbers. In one battle alone, the Battle of the River Somme in 1916, there were 420,000 British casualties along with some 194,000 French and 440,000 German—more than 1,000,000 casualties! Economically, too, Britain—together with the rest of Europe—was shattered. The huge British Empire staggered under the blow and never fully recovered. Indeed, that war, with 28 leading nations participating, sent the entire world reeling as if by a deathblow. On August 4, 1979, just 65 years after the outbreak of World War I, The Economist, of London, England, commented: “In 1914 the world lost a coherence which it has not managed to recapture since.”

16 At the same time, the Great War, as it was then called, opened the way for the United States to emerge distinctly as part of the Anglo-American World Power. For the first years of the war, public opinion kept the United States out of the conflict. But as historian Esmé Wingfield-Stratford wrote, “it was all a question of whether, at this hour of supreme crisis, Britain and the United States would sink their differences in the realization of [their] overmastering unity and common trusteeship.” As events turned out, they did. In 1917 the United States contributed her resources and manpower to bolster the war effort of the staggering Allies. Thus, the seventh head, combining Britain and the United States, came out on the winning side.

17 The world after the war was vastly different. Satan’s earthly system, although devastated by the death stroke, revived and became more powerful than ever and so won the admiration of humans because of its recuperative power.

18 Historian Charles L. Mee, Jr., writes: “The collapse of the old order [caused by the first world war] was a necessary prelude to the spread of self-rule, the liberation of new nations and classes, the release of new freedom and independence.” Leading in the development of this postwar era was the seventh head of the wild beast, now healed, and with the United States of America moving into the dominant role. The dual world power took the lead in advocating both the League of Nations and the United Nations. By the year 2005, U.S. political power had led the more privileged nations in creating a higher standard of living, in fighting disease, and in advancing technology. It had even placed 12 men on the moon. It is no wonder, therefore, that mankind in general has “followed the wild beast with admiration.”

Head killed but healed = Anglo American world power.  In fact, at this time the American portion was only starting to exert itself on the world scene.  The death stroke or sword stroke that was healed was the Great War.

Now for the League of Nations becoming the United Nations

*** re chap. 34 pp. 247-248 pars. 4-6 An Awesome Mystery Solved ***
4 What light did the talk “Peace—Can It Last?” throw on the prophecy? Clearly identifying the scarlet-colored wild beast of Revelation 17:3 as the League of Nations, N. H. Knorr went on to discuss its stormy career on the basis of the angel’s following words to John: “The wild beast that you saw was, but is not, and yet is about to ascend out of the abyss, and it is to go off into destruction.”—Revelation 17:8a.

5 “The wild beast . . . was.” Yes, it had existed as the League of Nations from January 10, 1920, onward, with 63 nations participating at one time or another. But, in turn, Japan, Germany, and Italy withdrew, and the former Soviet Union was dropped from the League. In September 1939 the Nazi dictator of Germany launched World War II. Having failed to keep peace in the world, the League of Nations virtually plunged into an abyss of inactivity. By 1942 it had become a has-been. Neither before this nor at some later date—but right at that critical time—did Jehovah interpret to his people the full depth of meaning of the vision! At the New World Theocratic Assembly, N. H. Knorr could declare, in line with the prophecy, that “the wild beast . . . is not.” He then asked the question, “Will the League remain in the pit?” Quoting Revelation 17:8, he answered: “The association of worldly nations will rise again.” That is just how it proved to be—in vindication of Jehovah’s prophetic Word!

Ascending out of the Abyss
6 The scarlet-colored wild beast did indeed climb out of the abyss. On June 26, 1945, with noisy fanfare in San Francisco, U.S.A., 50 nations voted to accept the Charter of the United Nations organization. This body was “to maintain international peace and security.” There were many similarities between the League and the UN. The World Book Encyclopedia notes: “In some ways, the UN resembles the League of Nations, which was organized after World War I . . . Many of the nations that founded the UN had also founded the League. Like the League, the UN was established to help keep peace between nations. The main organs of the UN are much like those of the League.” The UN, then, is actually a revival of the scarlet-colored wild beast. Its membership of some 190 nations far exceeds that of the League’s 63; it has also taken on broader responsibilities than its predecessor.

7 At first, great hopes were expressed for the UN. This was in fulfillment of the angel’s words: “And when they see how the wild beast was, but is not, and yet will be present, those who dwell on the earth will wonder admiringly, but their names have not been written upon the scroll of life from the founding of the world.” (Revelation 17:8b) Earth’s dwellers have admired this new colossus, operating from its imposing headquarters on New York’s East River. But true peace and security have eluded the UN. For much of the 20th century, world peace was maintained only by the threat of “mutual assured destruction”—MAD, as it is abbreviated—and the arms race has continued to escalate astronomically. After almost 40 years of effort by the United Nations, its then secretary-general, Javier Pérez de Cuéllar, lamented in 1985: “We are living in another age of fanatics, and we don’t know what to do about it.”

8 The UN does not have the answers. And why? Because the Giver of life to all mankind is not the UN’s life-giver. Its life span will be short, for according to God’s decree, “it is to go off into destruction.” The UN’s founders and admirers do not have their names recorded in God’s scroll of life. How could sinful, mortal men, many of whom mock God’s name, achieve through the UN what Jehovah God has declared he is about to accomplish, not by human means, but through the Kingdom of his Christ?—Daniel 7:27; Revelation 11:15.

9 The UN is actually a blasphemous counterfeit of God’s Messianic Kingdom by his Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ—to whose princely rule there will be no end. (Isaiah 9:6, 7) Even if the UN were to patch up some temporary peace, wars would soon erupt again. This is in the nature of sinful men. “Their names have not been written upon the scroll of life from the founding of the world.” Jehovah’s Kingdom by Christ will not only establish eternal peace on earth but, on the basis of Jesus’ ransom sacrifice, raise the dead, the righteous and the unrighteous who are in God’s memory. (John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15) This includes everyone who has remained steadfast despite the attacks of Satan and his seed, and others who have yet to show themselves obedient. Obviously, God’s scroll of life will never contain the names of die-hard adherents of Babylon the Great or of any who continued to worship the wild beast.—Exodus 32:33; Psalm 86:8-10; John 17:3; Revelation 16:2; 17:5.

Revelation describes "the wild beast you saw" as was, then it was was not (or not existing), and yet about to be.  It existed (as the League of Nations) then, during World War II that organization ceased to function.  It went into a state of inactivity or nonexistence.  After that global war the nations gathered together to form a new organization - The United Nations.

Yes, I was confused, too, by the sword stroke that got healed.  Thanks for the opportunity to research this point.
