930.

That's an average of 5 more each month. This will need to increase to 6 per month in 2018 to reach 1000 next year.

We know that Jehovah "will speed it up in its own time...Because Jehovah anointed me to declare good news to the meek."  Isaiah 60:22 , 23  :D

1 John 4:1 "Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired statement, but test the inspired statements to see whether they originate with God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world."

933                It's Interesting where the added languages come from.

Mandinka is a Mandé language spoken by some 1.2 million Mandinka people in Mali, Senegal, The Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau;

it is the main language of The Gambia.

Ombamba: Mbaama is a Bantu language spoken in the Bambama District of the Republic of Congo and in Haut-Ogooué Province, south of Okondja, in Gabon by the Obamba people.

Punu is a Bantu language spoken in Gabon and the Republic of Congo.

Thank you for posting that! It's exciting learning what new languages are being added, as it shows where there is more growth around the world. Would you be willing to keep us up to date in the future with which new languages are coming out? It's so much cooler to see what language came out than just seeing a number.

Yes I'll try, but anyone is welcome to do the same.

God’s Kingdom Rules! Ch9 JEHOVAH MADE IT POSSIBLE

Though Benin’s population speaks more than 60 languages, radio programs back then were usually broadcast in only five. So when the ban was broadcast in all local languages, many thousands of people living in remote areas heard of us for the very first time. They wondered, ‘Who are Jehovah’s Witnesses, and why are they banned?’ Later, when we reached those areas, many accepted the truth in short order.” Today, there are more than 11,500 Witnesses in Benin.

I love this experience!

939 Cakchiquel (Western)/Kaqchikel Sololá - added to the Cakchiquel (Central)

*** w74 7/1 p. 394 Insight on the News ***

Quiché? Cakchiquel? Kekchí?

● Does Quiché mean anything to you? Perhaps Cakchiquel rings a bell? Or what about Kekchí Tzutuhil, Mam, Kanhobal or Pokomam? These are all languages or dialects derived from the ancient Mayan language, and they are spoken today by the people in Guatemala. A recent news report from there states that it is hoped that some 60 percent of the twenty-four native tongues spoken in Guatemala will soon be cared for with Bible translations.

*** yb73 pp. 189-190 Guatemala ***

The many Indian dialects, unrelated to Spanish, have also impeded progress of the Kingdom-preaching work. Pointing up the difficulty of translating the Bible into these dialects, The Book of a Thousand Tongues, by the American Bible Society, states: “In Cakchiquel (Guatemala) any verb may have some 100,000 possible forms by the variety of particles which may be added to its root.” Consequently, those of one Indian tribe often do not understand the language of their neighbors living just across a ridge.

So there have been many obstacles. Nevertheless, years ago ‘a large door leading to activity’ swung open for declaring the Kingdom good news in Guatemala.

Truly our Father Jehovah has great love for mankind! Seeing Jehovah's personality in action, reaching out to ALL people moves me deep inside.

Man was created as an intelligent creature with the desire to explore and understand :)
