Updates to JW Library (iOS, Android, Windows)

Recommended Posts

JW Library®

Version 15.5

What’s New

  • Playback speed for video and audio is remembered after restarting the app.

  • When videos are opened, the heads-up display is hidden. To show it, tap the video.

  • Several issues are fixed, including some that were causing the app to crash.

Note: Update for Windows is delayed due to its different underlying framework, expect the update to arrive within the next few days or sooner.

My Windows 11 just updated the JW Library app.  It is version 15.5.143 (700890)

Am I the only one who didn't really like the new layout of our media player?

Before I used to be able to minimize the currently shown image so that I can prepare for the next one.

It happened a few times before especially during the first time the new layout was released where the brothers inadvertently exited the playing video (opening song) because they had to add a missing image to the playlist before the public talk. So now we had to restart singing again.

Although we don't do it anymore because everyone knows the new layout but for me all the intuitive features of the app for Windows are all gone. 😭 But well, it is what it is.

Ever since the JW library update on my android tablet, I’ve been having trouble highlighting with my S pen. For example, when I try to highlight a word in the watchtower, it will instead try to scroll the article up or down, (or move left or right to the next article). Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, I'd like JWL to have that feature again. Now you have to click the arrow to go back to the playlist/multimedia, and the picture or video is taken off the display.

Also, I found that the Multimedia for the midweek meeting in my Android phone had more pictures than the Windows version. Likely the images in the articles that were referenced in the talks. I wanted to use a couple of those additional images, but the JWL in Windows didn't have it.
