Saying the NWT is not a Bible because it contains Jehovah’s name is stupid to say the least.

Edited by Brother Jack

The Hebrew word cushi or kushi is an affectionate term generally used in the Bible to refer to a dark-skinned person of African descent.

This was due for a court appearence yesterday. Does anyone know the result?

It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step :- Jer10:23.

Not a day goes by wherein the truth of this scripture is not reaffirmed

Correct me where I err'ed and misunderstood.

So far from what can make out of the transcript is that because we didn't use the word Bible on the cover, so then it cannot be a bible. The so called experts didn't get past the preface and relied on Wikipedia for their profession opinions and the court doesn't want to dig deeper and refuse the experts opinions and just want to uphold the lower courts application that was submitted by someone who didn't have the authority to submit it in the first place.

Are these people well?

(Matthew 11:25, 26) 25 At that time Jesus said in response: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to young children. 26 Yes, O Father, because this is the way you approved.

(1 Corinthians 1:25-29) . . .Because a foolish thing of God is wiser than men, and a weak thing of God is stronger than men. 26 For you see his calling of you, brothers, that there are not many wise in a fleshly way, not many powerful, not many of noble birth, 27 but God chose the foolish things of the world to put the wise men to shame; and God chose the weak things of the world to put the strong things to shame; 28 and God chose the insignificant things of the world and the things looked down on, the things that are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 so that no one might boast in the sight of God.

The one showing favor to the lowly is lending to Jehovah

The truth is that in many languages, when they get their revised nwt, it will read BIBLE - New World Translation on the cover.

🎵“I have listened to Jesus in these troublesome days,

He lights up my path.

As I hear and obey.”

I do think if we had called the NWT....New World Bible....they would have still

banned it BECAUSE  of the designation....New World....the point

is, they had no intention of allowing JW's to keep their bibles...no matter

what.  In fact,  when they entered the court...it was

already a done deal...fait accompli....a certanity.

I could be off kilter, but I don't think so!

From what I read earlier, the Russian court definition of 'extremest' does not necessarily imply violent or subversive behavior in itself.  To be extreme is to claim that all others are wrong and that you alone are right.  It is clearly evident that the Russian Orthodox Church clergy are fueling this fire against true worship because our literature and teachings show their path ultimately leads to destruction.  Of course they don't like that.  The Russian Government has a problem with our teaching that Jehovah comes first, then Caesar.  It seems their words of religious/conscientious freedom stop when they get afraid the population would not kill on command ... the same kind of issues were raised during the Vietnam War era when 'hippies' decided it was better to love than fight.

Point is that unless the legal definition of extremist can be amended by the Russian Government, the Russian Orthodox Church will use this tool to not only strike our organization but all other religious organizations that they feel are a threat.  The news revealed concern by other, smaller organizations (who also lost facilities in the past but regained them by expressing endorsement of the Russian Government and Russian Orthodox Church).

As to whether the NWT is a bible or not, I came into the truth using the Revised Standard Version and the King James Version because I did not want a translation or literature tainted to suit the teachings of any organization (my view at the time).  After six months, I checked the translation of several key scriptures and came to trust in the NWT translation accuracy.  Seeing the value of the literature only required a few months.  The Russian Orthodox Church may have has a few victories, but it will really hurt when they realize they cannot stop us (using other translations/versions) clearly demonstrating that Jesus' teachings prove all other paths are wrong, that God does have a name, that the trinity doctrine is a lie, and that the Russian Orthodox Church is just another doomed part of Babylon the Great.

When I run into the same claims in this country that we wrote our own bible, I show scriptures from the KJV and RSV to demonstrate the worth/accuracy of our NWT.

Pretty insecure people. Too bad they are bullies!

I want to age without sharp corners, and have an obedient heart!

Did you know it was originally a group associated with the Russian Orthodox Church that started the whole thing? That was way back in 1995. They made a ridiculous complaint against Jehovah's Witnesses, which was rejected. They tried again, and failed. And again, and that was dropped too. They tried a total of five times until they finally found an investigator who would listen to their stupid claims. This ultimately led to the Strasbourg court case (the European Court of Human Rights) in 2010.

Go to this link, scroll down to THE FACTS, followed by I. THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE CASE. Then scroll down to section C. Criminal investigations into the Jehovah's Witnesses' activity.

Maybe they figured that if they kept pushing hard enough they would eventually find someone who would listen to their nonsense. It seems they did. Even after our victory in the ECHR in 2010, Russia has still refused to follow the ECHR's recommendations. There may not be any doubt left that the ROC is behind it all.

Perhaps the ROC was also behind Putin's signing of a new law in 2015.
