Quote

The United Nations General Assembly has overwhelmingly rejected the Trump administration's decision to recognize the disputed city of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. By a lopsided 128-9 vote Thursday, the diplomats gathered in New York City ignored U.S. objections and approved a resolution calling on countries to avoid moving their embassies to Jerusalem.

Among the countries that voted in favor of the resolution are many traditional U.S. allies, including the United Kingdom, France and Canada. Israel, which celebrated Trump's decision earlier this month, joined the U.S. in voting against the measure.

Big to do about nothing, on the grand scheme.  It really shouldn't matter if any nation identifies Jerusalem as a capital or not. It does not change anything.

Politics.  Nationalism.  Segregation and discrimination.  See what a mess it makes.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

They can't "kick out" any of the 5 "permanent" members of the security council. As the US is one of those they aren't going anywhere.

Also, it is not in the US interests to leave. If they were to leave they couldn't veto proposals like this. It would leave only the UK to back US interests and - as this vote showed - they don't always do that.

Imagine the US not there and sanctions get imposed against them for their international practices. No, the US can't leave.

Plus, the US is the largest contributor to UN funding. This has always been since its founding in 1945. They are definitely not going to bite the hand that feeds them.

The Hebrew word cushi or kushi is an affectionate term generally used in the Bible to refer to a dark-skinned person of African descent.

Trump thinks the UN is like a bunch of guys who having a tea time. That it is not an organ that acts or have power. Since trump is president he pokes the UN with telling them to cut down their investment in the UN. Maybe this can lead the UN to do incredible things so they can prove their existence and keep getting their money from the US.

Trump is a strange person and make weird decisions. But until now it looks like these decisions could be meaningful.

Countries with close ties to Israel, including Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic — all with nationalist governments — abstained in the vote.

Poland has extremely close ties with Israel so I saw this "coming"

Political powers are very divided these days ....

Just a thought: It's possible that satan is working hard to divide nations on many issues so Peace and Security  is harder to proclaim in the future?

Peace and security is not Jehovah's idea. He doesn't originate it. There is no scripture indicating he maneuvers it.  Therefore, can we say Satan is actually behind the declaration of peace and security?  After all, it will be a veneer, a lie.

Yes I know.

But he knows the Bible .....  had enough knowledge to quote from it.

Why would he be “pushing” for it if that’s the beginning of GT

There is absolutely no evidence that Satan is behind PS proclamation

Perhaps human element that he controls will act on its own and Satan will not be unable to control their actions?

After all humans have their own free will

Possibilities..... possibilities :whistling:

Please correct me if I’m mistaken, but after the Great Flood, Satan and his demons were condemned to Tartarus - a state of dense mental darkness concerning Jehovah’s purposes. They will stay in this prison-like mental state until they are destroyed. So based on that, it seems that Satan doesn’t necessarily know about this notable P&S saying and that it will be a harbinger of the GT.

Hmmm...interesting thought.

But sometimes spiritual darkness is a matter of choice

Ephesians 4:17-19.

So this is what I say and bear witness to in the Lord, that you should no longer go on walking just as the nations also walk, in the futility of their minds. They are in darkness mentally and alienated from the life that belongs to God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the insensitivity of their hearts.

The nations are in "darkness" because of their choice ...good news is being preached to them, thus there is an option open for them of not being in darkness.

(Tarʹta·rus).
A prisonlike, abased condition into which God cast disobedient angels in Noah’s day.

How come Satan was quoting word for word from Psalms ?

That doesn't make Satan ignorant about Bible prophecy, he knew enough about Jesus birth to try to interfere.

This is the circular reasoning we can use for anything dealing with Satan.  Why did he try to kill Jesus, since it was prophecied he would do so?  Why not instead try to keep Jesus safe and alive as that would have derailed Jehovah's prophecies.

But no, no evidence he pushes the proclamation, either. It's probably something that happens without his influence.

Satan is literate. He can read the Bible and our publications. He also knows what lies he has told for 6,000 years.
