These were just taken about 5 min ago in my front yard!!!

72565=4054-Back driveway.jpg This is showing my neighbor behind me. They like to park in my driveway, which I am NOT happy about. 7 vehicles, and only 2 of them run.

72565=4055-Front yard.jpg Front yard. From the bushes in front of my porch to the hedges is about 7 ft. LOL Small front yard.

72565=4056-Off front porch.jpg Standing on my front porch to the street light. The picture quality is BAD. It's so peaceful seeing the huge flakes pouring down in the light...

Okay, we officially got dumped on. I was out grocery shopping and when I left for the store the roads were clear. When I came out it was a complete white out. Took forever to get home and couldn't see a thing.

We got 3 or 4 inches and it all came within an hour I imagine.

Boo! Hiss! I am not happy about this.

Here in Davenport it is just cold. No snow yet, some flurries a couple of days ago that is still laying about in places...with wind chill factored in it is 15deg F right now----

@Micah; those are nice pics....and about as close to the real thing as I want to get, thankyouvermuch---

Got a generic question...Micah mentioned 'large' snowflakes...large being a relative term, how big are the flakes in your area...'snow' flakes, that is:lol1:

Where I lived in California, I was in the Sierra Nevada foothills, about halfway between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. We were around the 2,750ft elevation and the flakes got pretty large. An average size was about (US coin) a quarter, just around an inch(25MM)....lots of time quite a bit bigger....

When I moved here to Iowa, one of the first snows that I saw had these tiny little cold white things falling and I was like 'ok, when is it gonna start snowing?'...........these flakes were about the size of a green pea, or red bean....not what I was used to at all...

So, whats it like where you're at?-----

I am in Euclid, Ohio, and we had some coin sized ones come down and we also get the pea-sized ones, the ones we had today were fairly sized!

Did you or anyone else here from Ohio feel the earthquake the other day? I read about it but I don't know what part of Ohio was affected.

we also get out on May 31st. this year... with all of the new schools being built and scheduled to open for next year, they need a good chunk of time to remove the old buildings and do the parking lots, play-ground and grassy areas.....

Yes. My wife and I were sitting here talking, then we heard a noise in the wall. We thought it was a mouse or coon in the wall. When I smacked the wall where it was, it still kept going. It contined for a few more minutes. Then I checked and VOILA! Earthquake! So awesome!!!!!!!! No damage that we can see.

The news said that people down in Lower 48 wondered where winter was! It's up here in Alaska. Cordova down on south coast has gotten snow every day since Dec. 17 and have a total of 18 FT. They called in NG to help with roof clearing. Some of the warehouses are collapsing. On the other hand Valdez has gotten 20 FT but they get that every year so they know how to handle it and their are more people there. In central Alaska we have maybe foot and half of snow on the ground but we have COLD. It was 41 below 0 last week and this weekend it's going to go to 45 below. In other low lying areas it will get down to 55 to 60 below. One thing about it, we expect it and we are prepared for it and life goes on apace.

When the temps are that cold, how does that work with going in field service and meetings? I have always been curious about that!
