I love Jack Russell terriers!

Recommended Posts

How delicious is that!

My little Zoey is part Jack Russel, but I haven't trained him to do anything, but sit, down and come. They do learn fast.

The things the little dog was able to do reminded me of the Canine Partners Charity here. It trains dogs to do tasks that a disabled person needs help with and then matches them to the person, much like the older charity Guide dogs for the Blind. There's a video of what they do if you click on the icon on the right side of the home page:

I've just seen Uggie on a BBC TV chat show. He's generally regarded as the star of the film The Artist (French film partly silent, black and white as it's about Hollywood in the 1920's -haven't seen it so couldn't judge it, has a PG-13 rating). There are a few good youtube videos of him - he loves skate- boarding. Here he is with his under-study for The Artist, another Jack Russel called Dash:

How cute! I just got a 7 month old Rat Terrier today. She looks like a Jack Russell with BIG ears. Named her Roxy as a nod to my love of rocks. She is smart, but I'm not sure I can teach her everything I saw in that video. Today she learned to sit. And she understand "down" when she gets up on the furniture.

I love Jack Russell's too!! :infatuated: I had one named Gordon for nine years until a perfect storm erupted and he thought he could win a battle with the UPS truck and lost. :touche::cry: (I still feel like it was the last nasty thing that Satan could do to me after I was baptized since nothing else worked to slow me down, it only makes me hate him worse). He was my second child and the smartest little bugger you have ever met. I have a new computer and the old one is at the shop or I would post a picture of him.

I have a dachshund now (well he is really my mom's, but he let's me be his second rate buddy) but it is never the same, even though Slinky is the cutest little doggie I have ever seen.

In the meantime, I continually beg my husband to let me get another JRT, but he hasn't relented as he never wants to see me as heartbroken as I was when I lost my Gordie Gordo. There is just something about the breed. They own you and not the other way around.
