Apple's wireless AirPods may cause cancer, according to hundreds of scientists from all over the world.

More than 250 scientists have signed a petition urging the United Nations and World Health Organization to develop stronger guidelines regarding the potential cancer risk and other health effects caused by non-ionizing electromagnetic fields, or EMFs.

Last year, Apple sold more than 28 million pairs of AirPods and more than 16 million the year prior, according to the Daily Mail. The popular AirPods connect wirelessly to a user's phone or computer via Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth technology uses low-power radio waves.

The petition warns against all types of radio frequency radiation, including WiFi, cellular data, and Bluetooth devices.

What's the story?

Some animal studies have suggested there is a link between radio frequency radiation and cancer.

"Numerous recent scientific publications have shown that EMF affects living organisms at levels well below most international and national guidelines," according to the petition.

Some experts believe that AirPods may be especially dangerous since the devices sit deep inside the ear canal where they emit radiation to fragile parts of the ear.

The scientists also noted other possible health hazards, including an increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, and neurological disorders.

Do other researchers disagree?

Some researchers disagree with the authors of the petition.

Yes, EMFs' link to cancer has been known for many years, but as always corporate interests get in the way. A case in point is a popular US-made  fertiliser called glyphosate or commonly known as roundup.

There has been ample research that it causes cancer, but many countries and surprisingly the EU have been authorising its use in Europe despite pleas from environmental activists to the contrary. Later it turned out that the company behind it faked some research and presented it to counter cancer claims. Roundup is also now known to be the cause of mass insect die-off, particularly of the honey bees.

Corporate cover-up of things that might deprive them of big profits is well known. For example, climate change, cigarettes, Johnson baby talc and many other things have been "dressed up scientifically" by greed-driven companies to make them look as unharmful.

What will the governments do about EMFs? It is very likely nothing in the near future. Big corporations like Apple will hire scientists and some NGOs to come up with some "research" claiming that EMFs or at least their products are harmless or within safe limits.

We are living in the post-truth postmodernist era where people will do everything for the love of money and self.

Sorry for this if it came across a bit too strong, but since falling ill, I have been doing a lot of research online about health and discovered how companies and governments have been poisoning us in the name of "economic growth" and "wealth generation" for about 100 years now.

Would this include modern hearing aids?

Most newer digital aids are using low power radio waves ... yet, I have not heard any information/news about hearing aids causing cancer

Thank you, Brother Greg for bringing this matter to my attention. I have always known that young children should not be allowed to use mobile phones for an extended amount of time or even better, altogether banned from using it because their skull are too thin to protect their brains from EMF. I have always been wary of power lines but this matter of electrified train lines is something new.

Excerpts from https://wellnessmama.com/129645/emf-exposure/

Very strong sources of EMF radiation can present significant health risks. These include smart meters, radio stations, electrical generators, power lines, and electrified train tracks. An Italian study found that adults and children who live within 3 km of a high-power radio station are at a higher risk of developing leukemia than others (source). Therefore, you want to consider having these EMF sources removed or moving away from them

We can reduce EMF exposure by:

  • Keep appliances and devices off, or on airplane mode as much as possible
  • Hard wire internet connections, rather than using WiFi
  • If WiFi use is necessary, only turn it on when in use and turn off the WiFi router at night
  • Hard wire computer peripherals rather than using wireless or bluetooth connections
  • Ensure that your homes electrical wiring is done properly to minimize EMFs
  • Keep electronic devices, i.e. cell phones, tablets, and computers away from your body. This includes using head phones to make calls instead of placing the phones near your ear to speak
  • Sleep away from circuit breakers or large appliances that run overnight, including if the appliance is on the other side of the wall
  • Use protection tools such as Defender Pad under your laptop, and EMF shields for cell phone
  • Filter out dirty electricity using dirty electricity filters
  • Minimize use of digital devices when possible. Even better, take regular digital detoxes.

In addition to taking steps to reduce EMF exposure, we can mitigate the negative effects by

  • Grounding– it allows our bodies to neutralize positive ions from electronic devices and re-synchronize with the Schumann resonance.
  • Exposures to negative ions such as being near moving water, Himalayan salt lamp, or a negative ion generator can mitigate negative effects of exposure to EMF radiation
  • Eating a nutritious diet high in antioxidants can help mitigate some oxidative stress from EMF exposure.

This article is making me paranoid about all harm these so called technological advances are impacting on our lives. I think we will need to do read up more to protect ourselves from this scourge of modern day living.

Daydream -

Scientists have discovered that daydreaming is an important tool for creativity. It causes a rush of activity in a circuit, which connects different parts of the brain and allows the mind to make new associations.

I have 2 Himalayan lamps in my study room,  and 1 each in every other room, I like orange light they are emitting at night (I run them 24/7)

I am not sure how effective they ate in combating EMF as some suggest that the lamps are to weak, but little is better then nothing I suppose.

Isnt funny how all the things that are supposed to help us and make our lives easier (that humans create) come with so many risks? Headphones, cell phones, tvs/computers, microwaves, cars, straws, etc. (I wonder if pacemakers or IV machines would be included?)

I live in a temporary reality- awaiting the day I wake up to life in the real world!

Everything has a possible downside. Almost nothing is entirely harmless.

GI heard some study in Europe where they are saying cell phones will be the next tobacco. To keep the things away from, especially soft tissue. Women putting phones in bras, and even men putting them in pockets. If this is true, men, do not put them in front or back pants pockets. Same for all of us, I guess.

It was a talk at a university.

We do not put them near our heads. Use the speaker phone. It’s just a mess.

When we had no electricity, except what we made, I could listen to the radio. With all systems off. Now, we are like everyone else. I think if we could see what’s  in the air, transmitting...

We live rural, so, pretty much, it’s  just the stuff we make that we have to deal with.

But, I’m driving down the highway, and the car tells me the speed limit. What’s that about?

Bluetooth next to my brain? Does not sound good.

Bluetooth is quite weak. It’s not even very good at broadcasting from ear to ear. This is something Apple found a solution to in their AirPods.

Sorry. I’m paranoid. I do not trust them with what brain cells I have that are still functioning!

A lot of radiation passes through your brain at any given moment. It’s the way the world works. Most of it is natural.
