Tech Help: Getting New Android Phone - JW Lib App Data and MicroSD Card

Recommended Posts

How do I get JW Lib App Data from the MicroSD Card onto the new smartphone? SD Cards cannot be transferred to another device unless it is formatted; I assume this means the data will be lost. i.e., my notes/gems. Does anyone know a workaround?

Warning: I'm mot tech-savvy.

If you have seen another post by me in reference to using my external memory as internal storage...I give up.

This means videos and music (not books and Bibles).

OK. So if the books and Bibles are on the APP/Memory from the phone, how do I get it to my new phone? I don't even know if that question is correct. ha-ha It is my notes/gems that I want on the new phone.

I don't know.  Some have suggested some kind of "copy-restore" but I never found any.  If it is a new phone or a "wiped" phone or tablet, you have to download all of the material again.  If you have made notes, or highlights or put in tabs, you can back these items up and restore them to the new device.  The library has a "backup & restore" feature for this purpose.

Samsung have a program called 'Smart Switch'. It will fully backup (to say PC or cloud)
Change to new sd card. Then 'restore'.
But first I would use the JW app settings to put all your notes on the cloud. Then you can 'restore' all you personal gems and notes...

1. Go to PERSONAL STUDY tab.

2. Click on the cloud icon and select "CREATE BACKUP".

3. Save the file somewhere in the cloud, eg. google drive or locally on an SD card.

4. Install JW Library on your new phone.

5. Go to PERSONAL STUDY tab

6. Select RESTORE A BACKUP by pressing the cloud icon

7. Navigate to and select the file you previously saved in the cloud or SD Card

PS. You may need to click on the 3 dots if you cannot see the cloud icon.

Just a reminder for Step 3 above. If you put it on the sd card, then you will need to have that sd card in your phone to restore it.
You might find it easier to email it to yourself...

Thank you for your suggestion..I also am still learning much about my Samsung devices..am just wondering how I could send all my personal study notes to myself. I know how to send an email to myself, but how would I include all the notes?

When I installed jwlib to my new device, I had the old one turned and they automatically were added to my new one.

Vernalee, I don't understand. Do you mean your study notes or highlighted publications?

Try this :

1. In your app select personal study

2. Top right select 'upload'

3. Select 'create' (It will open a box of choices)

4. Choose you email service

The app will do the rest...

Hope this helps a14647a2ab7501241fda3fb24c626ee7.jpg&key=412d8df4409928a0e43cedf8bc5fe27260e0bbc9a27e55755bafb10fc5ff5c6eb11c3298a4378d64367f13828c77c160.jpg&key=f6878c147c4f33c903cb652cdd50b596bfa6ec1cb79f1fa9a9cb0ccab3abced0cfa9ef8e12a9ce56eb1ea32c2aa5bd75.jpg&key=062afec80a527519365b71946098a33fd227f11d0dabf02ac9ec70a9ecfb4d59ce8f102b480cae285df440a4bbcfc8d2.jpg&key=e2d9f88453306781cb00d32c99061a65cd94141bf127f3d8da8f0b2e657f5842
