Stop construction - preserve frogs!

Recommended Posts

Upon my recent visit to Warwick Bethel, I have learned that brothers stopped construction of Warwick for 2 months to allow frogs to hatch. (They made their way where construction was taking place)

I had to pause and reflect on the question:

In Paradise, to what extent Jehovah will require us to look after animals and other creation.

Is the example of what happened in Warwick a pre-taste of things to come ?   Is Jehovah teaching us a lesson about his creation already today? (I think so )

In contrast evil society under Satan has little, or no regard for insects, spiders and other insignificant creatures ...like frogs.

Hi Greg,

That is a good example you shared with us of how the Governing Body showed concern for animal life, even small life, even the eggs!

I admire how the Governing Body tries to consider each and every scriptural principle and how they try their best to reflect Jehovah's thoughts/feelings.

And here are some thoughts and principles that they may have considered:

Quote

(Jon 4:11)
“. . .Should I not also feel sorry for Ninʹe·veh the great city, in which there are more than 120,000 men who do not even know right from wrong, as well as their many animals?””

(Ex 20:10)
“. . .but the seventh day is a sabbath to Jehovah your God. You must not do any work, neither you nor your son nor your daughter nor your slave man nor your slave girl nor your domestic animal nor your foreign resident who is inside your settlements.”

*** g 12/11 p. 11 Does God Care About Animals? ***
In contrast, even with the best of intentions, humans do not fully understand how their actions influence the environment. Managing human society in a way that shows regard for wildlife requires a change in mankind’s thinking.

Did the brothers voluntarily make that decision or did the city/state/environmentalists tell them to wait?

My understanding is that it was purely brothers decision to allow them to hatch, there is no such requirement from secular authorities.

More effort was made to look after other animal forms, birds, snakes etc

The respect for nature in Warwick blew my mind.

I wonder how mechanized the new system will be. Somehow I see us living in conjunction with creation. We shall see.

Well, in Warwick indoors there is high-tech, but outside the building you can feel nature calming your senses ... this mix works very well, when implemented properly... we have to wait and see.

Also I have noticed spider cobwebs on the building were not removed, same principle like frogs? Did not ask, but that was rather interesting.

Did you see any pest control, rat traps, fly swatters or bug spray?

No, I did not. The cobwebs were in the front door, and around it leading us to the grounds tour ...The whole Warwick feels, smells clean, so I don't think that leaving those cobwebs alone is a neglectful procedure, they were left on purpose.

Also they have a dog "Stirling" of whom 2 brothers are assigned to look after, Stirling keeps rattle-snakes and other creatures away.

Bird houses are positioned on the trees as well.

Would that mean that it's wrong to kill spiders and other bugs that come into your house?

I used to catch them and put them outside but had to give up...they got faster than me..😊

I won't hurt them if they're outside because  they are in their element where they belong, but when they invade my space  they are not welcome..😊

One small crack doesn't mean you are broken; it means that you were put to the test and didn't fall apart..
