In  my place, young people are worried about  whats happening in the middle east.. Lots of fears being circulated in the media.... But we knew the prophecy.

There is a lot of propaganda going on and it is satanic too. Friends needs to be careful on this. Peace and Security will be a satanic propaganda.

I have been exposed to media for decades because that was a  free channel in the countryside before .. It was addictive and it only creates fear on our minds. .. Jehovah is in control of  things . Better to spend bible reading and in the ministry.

That is true. We need to have a balance of good things. Reading the  Bible, publications, JW.org  and Ministry is excellent things to do. And eating chocolate too sis.

On the other hand, it's also good to be up to date with current news. Only that way we can be aware of what our neighbors are concerned with and adapt our message to them. Besides, we need to keep on the watch for world events.

As usual, the key seems to be balance. Neither isolating ourselves nor spending the day watching the news. :)

To each his own, like Carlos said the key is balance! I have many friends that absolutely do not watch any news and do not want you to mention it and that's their right, I on the other hand want to be informed otherwise why come to this site, I feel if there is an article you do not want to know about, then don't click on it, find one that interest you and isn't going to make you depressed because a lot of news articles are just that, they can be depressing!  😏

It looks like Iran is taking responsibility for the downing of the Ukraine plane.

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

Oh, yooooo hoooooo, WW1 was started because a man was killed. Is anyone thinking?

Yes, that is correct and many lives were lost, except now countries realize a finger on the button can leash unmeasurable  proportions on the human race, it was  done before and the weapons they have now are thousands of times more powerful,  however all countries are using that as a deterrent , for now anyway, the use of conventional war fare  still causes much loss of life, thus the "tit for tat" mentality ( returning injury for injury)  is one way to "get back" at your enemy without putting all of the human race in jeopardy!

Iran plane crash: Khamenei defends armed forces in rare address

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-51140806

"Ayatollah Khamenei, 80, addressed the nation from the Mosalla mosque in the capital. The last time he did so was in 2012 on the 33rd anniversary of the country's Islamic Revolution."

"Leading Friday prayers in the capital is a symbolically significant act usually reserved for times when Iran's highest authority wishes to deliver an important message, says Mehdi Khalaji of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy."

This incident with Iran seems to have dropped out of the news cycle.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

It was the 19th attack since October to target either the embassy or the roughly 5,200 US troops stationed alongside local forces across Iraq. The attacks are never claimed but the US has pointed the finger at Iran-backed groups within the Hashed al-Shaabi, a military network officially incorporated into Iraq’s state security forces.

Just to keep this up to date . This figure : 19 rocket attacks is from October through today. Before and after the US drone attack against the Principle supplier and planner of these attacks.
