I was teaching a HOT class today. The first thing the Maintenance Trainer did in the meeting was read a letter from the Branch. The letter clearly stated that, if anyone who was at the hall had a cough, fever, runny nose to "PLEASE LEAVE" - and it encouraged the rest of us to follow the recommendations of good hygiene.

Thought this might be good to post - this is from the CDC

There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask.
    • CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
    • Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to  others. The use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
    • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

We had our branch visit today and the brother ( although originally from Canada ) now serves at S. Korea branch - which is in lock down as are the congregations in Seoul.

Even here the visit - parts were from Norval Ass Hall which only had about 1100 in attendance - I had seen 2500 ( packed in ) several years ago there as was I.

You must be a Jehovah's Witness if you view ass as a valid abbreviation and don't give a second thought of using it. 🤣

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

Years ago an uncle of my mom had a butcher shop in their village.  Kids kept wiping off the 1st "S" which made it (S)ASS so he added the "E" as other relatives spelled their name.

SAAS; SASS; SASSE.  All 3 spellings used by my relatives. 😁

Say I wonder if that US senator from out west somewhere is a distant relative - time frame seems right - some came to Canada, some a different branch to the US.

All started in Hanover Germany, but my relatives immigrated from Alsace/Loraine now part of France.

  • 2 weeks later...

(I have only skimmed this thread.)

I have found these gloves to but useful for cleaning, polishing etc.

They are easy to get on and off, and they shrink to the sizes of your fingers when hand-washing clothes in hot water!

Another 1,000 on the way for me.

The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the true God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole obligation of man. Ec 12:13
