Can I host a session for private chat not connected to the meetings like I can with Zoom? Is it free to use like Zoom?

What would cause a mic input to put sound out to the kingdom hall, but not be able to be heard on zoom?  We have the two mic for demos, labelled 2 and 3.  We hear both at the hall, but on zoom #2 doesn't come through zoom so the friends only hear half the demo.  Any thoughts?

It depends on how you are feeding the sound to Zoom from the mixer. If you are using the "monitor out" you need to make sure that all the mikes have the monitor switched on.

We are feeding it from the monitor out.  We have a Yamaha mixer with all the pesky knobs and slides.  I'll check it out and look at the settings

2 possible reasons ( app is muted or wire disconnection) 

 

Speaking only as an AV guy and branch suggestions

we have an Audio system for the KH - includes microphones for input into a mixer and then an Amp - then outputs the speakers

adding ZOOM - we dedicate an input from zoom (via computer into the mixer for comments) and an output from the mixer into the PC for KH audio to. Be Sent to the zoom app (allowing those tied-in to hear the meeting)

 

so if KH audio is working but not Zoom - it is probably the output from the mixer (often called Pre-amp) into the PC

—-check wires ad connections to confirm nothing came loose

or

an issue with Zoom app

make sure the KH acct hosting the sound has their mic on..not muted

Make sure the correct mic (audio source) is selected
