Saturday, February 13 She had not been able to get a cure from anyone.—Luke 8:43.

Saturday, February 13

She had not been able to get a cure from anyone.—Luke 8:43.

The woman desperately needed help. She had gone to many physicians, hoping to find relief. After 12 years of misery, she still had not been healed. According to the Law, she was unclean. (Lev. 15:25) Then she heard that Jesus could cure those who were suffering, so she went to find him. When she found him, she touched the fringe of his outer garment, and immediately she was cured! But Jesus did more than heal her body—he restored her dignity. For example, when talking with her, he used the warm yet respectful term “daughter.” How truly refreshed, or energized, that woman must have felt! (Luke 8:44-48) Notice that the woman went to Jesus. She took the initiative. The same is true today—we must make the effort to “come to” Jesus. At present, Jesus will not miraculously cure the physical sicknesses of those who “come to” him. But he still extends the invitation: “Come to me, . . . and I will refresh you.”—Matt. 11:28. w19.09 20 ¶2-3

You can't walk with God while holding hands with the Devil.

After 12 years of misery. This woman felt she was going to die.  Are you suffering with something that makes you feel tike you are going to die, or worse, that makes you wish you could just die and get some relief?   When we put our trust in Jehovah's words that in his due time he will  fix us and make us well we exercise faith. We are like the woman who put faith in touching just the fringe of Jesus garment. For us the fringe of Jesus garment is the hope of the kingdom set before us, and this hope keeps us alive and refreshes us day by day.

The one showing favor to the lowly is lending to Jehovah

Jesus refreshed the poor woman indeed. He still refreshes us today by being the Best Companion. Having the privilege of working with a person of highest moral standards like Jesus But not Self-righteous, talented but modest & considerate. Who view us not only as fellow workers but as friends: IS REFRESHING.

Comparing the three accounts in Matt, Mark, and Luke helps show how faith is alive, in action, and tested.
The man praying at his daughter's bedside, acted on faith strong enough to leave her side at a critical time, track Jesus down and then fall at his feet begging him. When Jesus agreed to come, it must been as if she were saved that moment. But then, Jesus was delayed; he even said "power went out of me." Would there be power left to heal his daughter? Then tragic news was brought by messenger, she had died.
Seeing the father's reaction, Jesus said, "have no fear."  Your faith brought you this far, let's go together a lil farther. A little farther now.  Pay no attention to these loud mourners, but let's face this together, just you and I.

Step by step, this father leaned into his trust in Jehovah, as he heard of Jesus, as he saw him heal another, and heard reassurances.  His faith grew based on personal experience under stress. He reached out for an improbable blessing; nothing was impossible, if it were God's will.  The years that followed, that daughter's presence was a living reminder of Jehovah's love and future promise of resurrection; "have no fear!"

Wow, what a beautiful explanation!
