These shortcuts can be found in the  app in the Windows section of the Start Menu 

 

When you open the Character Map you can find most of these keyboard shortcuts by simply clicking on the desired character you want and the "alt" shortcut will be displayed in the bottom portion of the app

It should be noted this is the "number keypad" - the numbers across the top of the keyboard will NOT work for these shortcuts

 

I have been using this method for many years

Thanks a million, Br. John. Woke up in the morning and saw your post. Panicked 'what! there are apps on the PC!!!'. A real dinosaur here. So I just used the search option and found it. Wow, maybe I'll finally come out of the stone age. Talk about blind leading the blind. ☹️

I did it using the PrtScn key and pasted it and it worked, the only reason I deleted it was because all around the picture was other information from the clipboard box, my email address, et. Maybe I will need to use the one that only captures the pic, unless prtscn has that feature in it?

I hold the keys 'Windows Key' + 'Shift' key + letter 'S'. The screen dims and a movable 'T' appears. I just use my mouse to expand the area that I want to screenshot.  In this case I will just screenshot just half of the sentence.

Sorry I learnt this all by myself so I don't know the right way to describe the steps. 

Then I go to the comment box and hold the Control (CTRL) and the letter V key. This will paste the screenshot onto the forum comment box.

In the Windows Menu  under the  folder you may find the 

 

 

The tool looks like this

 

I like this tool better than using the Windows logo key+Shift+s since if gives you more tools to work with. However, the  tool found in the "S" section of the Windows Menu also has additional features I just haven't played that much with it since I have used the  for a long time and just never think to use the new tool. 

 

Using either of these tools can eliminate the need for pasting the image elsewhere to work with it if you copied more than you wanted.

 

They both allow you to "Paste" into another app if you desire since they hold the image in the clipboard.

There are many symbols you can type with the alt & the number keys. (Only the number keys on the right side of your keyboard will work, — also known as “the ten keys.”) Your “Num Lock” must be on in order for this to work.

 

My favourite symbols to type are the em dashes: — You can type them by using Alt + 0151.

 

You could try out other number combinations… You might be in for a surprise.
