The problem with bluffs is, that one day it might not be, and everyone's guard is down. I know the Brothers are steps ahead though, and that's comforting.

Russia has threatened to fire “advanced weapons” at NATO country Poland, once again stepping up tensions and fuelling fears of World War III.

Moscow said that a new US ballistic missile defence base in northern Poland will lead to an increased nuclear danger.

However Warsaw has responded by saying that “threats” from Moscow only strengthened the argument for NATO defences.

The air defence base, situated in the town of Redzikowo near the Baltic coast, part of a broader NATO missile shield, was opened on November 13.https://www.news.com.au/world/europe/russias-veiled-threat-to-poland-advanced-weapons/news-story/1ce6e8d13dff9f9d3940729559330444

This has to be pure coincidence ... I don't have any proof to project anything else.

In the last few hours I've seen three advertisements as to what to do if disaster strikes ... one question was: Are you prepared if you find yourself in the middle of a disaster?

I'll take  note if there are more.

The HR 9495 Bill that just passed in the House is causing some discussion on Reddit  re: possibility of removing tax exemption on churches.

From the Slate.com article "HR 9495, a bill that, through seemingly innocuous language, could very well be used to make things difficult to impossible for nonprofits and their actions, like organizing and advocating—work that is both an important part of a functioning liberal democracy and, sometimes, a crucial pushback on power."

Some Reddit comment excerpts:

"Hrmmm, I wonder how this could work against churches in the future... Ya know the ones that have non-profit status and continually dabble in politics.
I wonder..."

"Right now, all the money churches bring in doesn't make it's way into the political sphere, because they'd lose their tax exempt status.
We don't stuff around with their money, and in turn they don't use their money to influence our elections.
Break that separation of Church and State seal though, and you're going to unleash the largest private fundraiser on the planet into our political system.
You'll have churches passing the plate every Sunday for the "defeat the devil super pac".
That's how you turn America into a theocracy in two generations."

"I don't really care about Christians discussing politics in church any more than I care about them discussing it at Luby's after church.
What I do fear is their ability to raise money, and influence elections.
Removing their tax exempt status would be a "real" direct attack on their faith they could point to and motivate people, instead of the normal existential crisis stuff they normally worry about.
My opinion is that we just leave the sleeping giant alone instead of stuffing around and finding out."

The article mentions Terrorists. Doesn't this sound like the law in Russia to ban us there?

First thing they did in Russia was take our money and property.

https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2024/11/21/treasury-secretary-house-bill-nonprofit-organization/76468156007/

Quote

If it passes the Senate and is signed into law, H.R. 9495 would give the treasury secretary, a position appointed by the president, the authority to designate a nonprofit as a “terrorist supporting organization" if they determine it provided material support or resources to a terror group within the past three years of the designation. The secretary would also have the authority to revoke an organization's tax-exempt status and decide when the designation would end.

H.R. 9495 also proposes an amendment to the Internal Revenue Code to postpone tax deadlines and reimburse late fees for Americans who are wrongfully detained or held hostage abroad. The Senate unanimously approved a similar measure earlier this year and is not expected to face any opposition as a standalone bill

Worth keeping an eye on it, eh.
