Peace and Security, Great Tribulation, Armageddon

In the United States, no president sets prices.  The prices are set by corporation heads.  If the corporations decide to raise prices they go up.  There are laws against price gouging, but some price variations exist.  My wife went to Golden Corral recently with our 3 grandsons.  They arrived at 3:40 PM.  The price went up at 4 PM.  My wife drove back (40 miles) to Golden Corral the next day to pay them an extra $15.00 because my grandsons had eaten 3 small pieces of steak and she said the steak was part of the dinner menu and she had paid for the lunch menu.  The point is that the restaurant can change prices when they want to.  All businesses do.

Movie theaters charge more at certain times of the day.  Presidents do not set prices.  I don't vote of course, but some voters talk about voting for certain candidates thinking the prices will go down.  If you want cheaper gas prices, bring back the pandemic, have a lot of people stay home and the gas prices will go back down due to less demand.

The best electric cars in the world are built in China by a company called BYD. During the first Trump presidency a tariff of 27% was put on the cars produced by BYD.  Biden raised the tariff to 100%.  It was supposed to help the car manufacturers in the US because their inferior vehicles cost more.  Instead of buying a BYD vehicle for $30,000, with the tariff you would now have to pay $60,000 ($30,000 for the car and $30,000 to the US government).  Or you could buy an inferior electric vehicle from Ford of GM for $40,000 or $50,000.  Companies in the US who need vehicles now have to buy inferior vehicles while companies in other countries can buy the superior and cheaper electric vehicles from BYD.  The tariff helps the car manufacturers sell cars but hurts the companies that have to buy the cars.  So, both political parties are doing the same thing.

Some people now speak of a uni-party meaning that both political parties are just basically doing the same thing.  It's basically all one party.  They just talk differently, then do the same thing.

That reply only took six hours. Was expecting it from the California region, not Aussie. But I'll take it.

G'day me ol' cobber.

But as a former Californian, I am extremely confused as to what a cobber is.   All I know from living in Cali is (peach) cobbler.   Home made...

There's the problem, you obviously aren't a native Californian. :lol1:

BTW: Google tells me that cobber is Aussie slang for friend. 😁

You’re right, it’s still used occasionally here Down Under. We do have an Aussie older elder on the body who often uses such terminology.

Man was created as an intelligent creature with the desire to explore and understand :)

stone the crows, shrimp on a barby, copper calling everyone mate, i feel it is just lowering the class distinction of common proper english. Australia seems to shorten everything in the common english language. And yes im a Australian, i remember going to bethel in 2019 from the international assembly and i felt it was hard for the brothers to show the culture of australia to our fellow brothers and sisters around the world, Namely from vegemite to cracking a whip, Australia has only been a country for a bit over 200 years established from britain then in 1900 separated from the Queen. I remember a CO saying to me we are not German (although i am half) we are not spanish or british, but we are all citizens of Gods Kingdom soon to be established. Can't wait until that happens.

(sorry moderators for being off topic i know this has nothing to do with this thread lol)

I wonder what would be our citizenship in the new world. Earthian, Martian, Jupiterian, neptunian, Venusian.. and for sure these planets' name will be replaced.

My country was named after King Philip of Spain.

Maybe not those ones no. But whether or not, life ends up on other planets, the earth will remain unique among creation, because it is where Jehovah’s Sovereignty was settled. (I stole that from a publication, hehe, too tired to get exact link).

And that's is coming right on time.

Our citizenship will be God's Kingdom.

We would likely view planets we live on the same way we view the neighborhood, city, or particular island we live on today.

That's the one! Awesome.  Also in a watchtower around the same time the book came out.
