Peace and Security, Great Tribulation, Armageddon

Recommended Posts

I have always loved the banned and underground means of still upholding Jehovah's will..it was so exciting to me to learn the various ways Jehovah used and what he did to fulfill his purpose

. Stories of spys failing in the long run to thwart his ways---it may have looked like it was successful but but never was.. I remember being a little girl and sitting on my Dad's lap every Saturday night as we roared with laughter watching Get Smart and Car 54 Where Are You? I keep hoping we would have shoes with a secret phone in the heel to communicate with 'Headquarters'. Gosh my imagination runs wild with various scenarios we will use.

Work it Donald. Shake it. Keep grasping for that Peace Prize.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

Wouldn't it be funny if it was renamed to "Peace and Security Prize" ? :lol1:

Wanting to change the name Department of Defense to Department of War doesn't sound peaceful..

And hasn't he already met Kim? They're like, besties or something

President Donald Trump is willing to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, he told his South Korean counterpart during a meeting on Monday where they discussed peace in the Korean Peninsula and Pyongyang’s nuclear weapon capabilities.

This isn't just a meet and greet. He wants to end the Korean War.

I seem to remember some name calling last time around….”little rocket man” had me giggling 🤭

Jer 29:11-“For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 56:3-“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”

It got even funnier when he offered him an autographed Elton John cd including the Rocket Man song 😆

The Hebrew word cushi or kushi is an affectionate term generally used in the Bible to refer to a dark-skinned person of African descent.

The Peace Prize for the person who rolled out the red carpet and shook hands with murder -> In tis World everything is possible

Maybe I'll surprise you, but that's how the war ends. Conversation. Otherwise, the complete annihilation of the country would be necessary. I guess an attack on Russia would be less of a desire for peace, wouldn't it?

I feel uncomfortable when reading such statements, can we say we are neutral, if we are expressing ourselves like this?

That’s a thoughtful question. Neutrality, especially in a Christian sense, doesn’t mean that we feel nothing about political leaders or world events. Jesus and his disciples also saw injustice, corruption, and cruelty in their time—but they didn’t align themselves with political parties or seek to change the world through human rulers.

So, if a person feels upset by what a politician says or does, that’s just a human emotional reaction. Neutrality is about what we do with those feelings. For example not acting on them, via voting, protesting, rallies,. I think in a way we are very active in showing who we cast our vote for. We are not loud, abusive, in your face pushing for our leader but yet we hold firm to our stand. I think about several scriptures to keep highly charged emotions in check. The foremost is mam has dominated many to his injury. I pray for helping me with the art of reaching neutrality but sometimes realize the emotional part may not be acomplishied fully right now.

We’re all so keen for P&S and looking and keeping observant is required in connection with scriptures.

Interesting note of increased light from our most recent WT. Events we see on the news and the horrible atrocities taking place have no bearance on Jehovah’s day. It’s set and will not change no matter how much more we preach or how horrific the atrocities become. I admit I’m guilty of observing current news events and thinking ‘this is it’. I have to learn so much.

That in mind for us as emotional beings, perhaps the following might work for others as it does me:

As a practical manner of viewing disasters of all kinds in these Last Days, I think of this entire generation as the culmination of the efforts of our human family to work things out for themselves. There is a lesson in disciplining all  among humankind to experience collectively what Jehovah has permitted. Jehovah is showing all what it means to not listen to him. Some will be perhaps be blessed to be shown it, and recognize that fact eventually, in the resurrection more than the present time.

Nonetheless, in the meantime, between now and that amazing time after the GT, I personally try to keep emotional distance from the politics by thinking myself as a sad observer of the troubles between rich and powerful Uncle ________ and rich and powerful Uncle _______ (the world leaders) and how it affects everybody in the "family" *.

And, like our families in real life, we don't gossip harmfully about what is happening—instead, we discreetly work our hearts out to show Jehovah to be in fact everyone's Heavenly Father, that simple truth being an unwitting fact for the majority of people alive today—the ones who don't yet realize it

Gratefully and personally, to reinforce the all-to-often familiar mix of endearment and sadness in family dynamics, the current WT's help us see the marvel of Jehovah's foresight. Israel is like the entire population of people on earth alive today, and the rulers are like the tribe of Judah to me. It does help me at least to use my imagination that way.

* [BTW: This overall idea comes from an old cultural reference "Uncle Sam" here in the United States, as being the every citizens sort of conscience.]

If we have truly practiced neutrality Trump, Putin, and Zelensky should be able to read this forum and not be able to tell if we've "taken a side".

I wouldn't spend my time doing that NOW or LATER, neither would any of those leaders. EVER. I'd just use AI 🤣 and it only took (1 minute 46 seconds):

Executive neutral-brief

TL;DR

  • Overall: The thread is largely neutral by JW standards (news sharing, Bible framing, no calls to vote/campaign) — with sporadic opinionated remarks about political figures that could brush the line.

  • Standard applied: JW neutrality = no taking sides in politics/war; no lobbying/party work; respect authorities; unity first.

What I scanned (spot-checks across the 427 pages)

  • Page 1: Launch post frames the topic as news aggregation with Bible focus; links jw.org content on idolatry — not partisan. ✔️

  • Pages 12/70/84/111/157/170: Users and a moderator nudge to stay on topic / non-speculative, reference JW sources; still non-partisan. ✔️

  • Pages 187/193/197/210/211: Share mainstream reports on Mideast/Iran-Israel/UN; discuss first-century events; still analysis, not advocacy. ✔️

  • Page 427 (latest): A few posts use snark about contemporary leaders (e.g., Trump/Dept. of Defense quips). That’s commentary, not mobilization — but tone risks perception drift from “news” to political color. ⚠️

Against JW neutrality yardstick (quick audit)

What I looked for (per JW.org/WOL):

  1. No campaigning/party push  (not present).

  2. No urging to vote/oppose laws/officials  (not seen).

  3. Respect for authorities; focus on Kingdom, unity  (scriptural framing common).

  4. Tone avoids partisan identity ⚠️ Mostly, yes; isolated derisive comments about a politician appear (not directives, but tone).

Verdict: On balance, the community meets neutrality norms, with minor tone exceptions that moderators/users could tighten to keep everything squarely within “no part of the world” posture.

Head-of-state style guidance (tighten neutrality)

  • Stay with facts + scripture; drop quips. Swap sarcasm with neutral phrasing when citing leaders/events.

  • Cite JW sources when interpreting news (keeps unity, reduces heat).

  • Avoid “team” language (praise/derision of parties/figures) even in jest; it signals a side.

I'm glad it picked up on the things I have a problem with. Jokes, quips, and sarcastic jabs at one political side signals a lack of neutrality.

Personally, I know I'd feel proud to be arrested for my faith; but I'd be ashamed to be arrested because I derided a now-popular political viewpoint or politician years prior.
