Speculating on events, whilst understandable, can set ourselves up for discouragement  per Prov 13:12.  
For so many different reasons, the prime one being the correction of the worst injustice in history, the slandering of Jehovah’s holy name, we all want the New World to be here now. 
 

Jesus told us to be on the watch and that’s exactly what we’re all doing.  

 

But it’s prudent to remember that our fervent desire for it to be here asap wont’t change the day or hour.  
 

Jehovah and Jesus have got this.  Lets see how things unfold x

There's a good chance we will, though. The GB never rushes news articles; even basic things like natural disasters can take a month to show up on the website. I think when the proclamation happens they would want to be absolutely sure that it's the real thing before announcing it. It's possible we will be discussing it on this forum for days or even weeks before we hear official confirmation.

Hannity is not a news broadcast. He's a political radio and TV talk show host.  This would be like hearing of a major world event by watching "The View" or some other daytime talk show. 

 

Likewise, jwtalk.net is not the site for breaking world news or declaring the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. We are a social media site. 

 

Now, TV talk shows and this website will be full of people reacting to the fulfillment of this prophecy.  That's different, though, and not what I'm referring to. 

 

If peace and security is anything like 9/11 or Kennedy assassination or the Apollo 11 moon landing in terms of scope or magnitude, we will see it first on all the major news sources. 

 

TV talk shows and political commentators do not break the news.

I could legitimately hear about it here first, regardless of the point of this site, and that's all I mean. I don't think anyone took the Sean Hannity post as a serious claim that the announcement had been made, but that doesn't mean we won't read about it on this site, before jw.org, when it happens for real.

I guess what I was thinking was....The beginning of events may start small without much notice like a lighted match in a forest.  I know that this is not the declaration but could it be the beginning or start. In any case how could anyone say definitely what is or isn't? That's all I meant. I understand what you meant @Shawnster.

I agree with everything else you said, and I would have agreed with this as well, but in 2025...the Internet is where most people get their information, and that could come from any number of "non traditional" news. So I definitely believe it will break across all the major networks...my only question is... will most people learn about it FIRST from there...or from Instagram or tiktok 😂

And I could be wrong, but I seem to remember that all of the pictures that I have seen that depict brothers and sisters finding out about peace and security show a TV with some sort of breaking news headline on the screen. 

 

In the past, I would have thought that this meant news networks like NBC ABC Fox PBS CNN, networks like that. But now that I've been thinking about it for the last few minutes, I think it's also partly to show the shock and awe of such a global statement. It's hard not to picture they're being a trail of smaller events that lead up to it, from the world standpoint. But with everything going on in the world, it could already be happening and we wouldn't recognize it because of how many things are happening at once. 

 

I could be wrong, so please don't quote me on that. I try not to worry about it too much because even though I'm supposed to be aware, I'm also supposed to survive in this system...and it can be exhausting trying to follow everything and keep up with all the latest developments. Plus I don't know as much about political events and current everyday events as I should probably, so I get lost and confused when I try to make sense out of any of it. 

 

I found that for me personally, it works better if I ask Jehovah in my prayers at night to please open my eyes to any major events or anything in general that I absolutely need to be aware of, that way I leave it up to him to tailor what I need to take in...and ignore the rest.

 

I'm fighting enough personal demons and weaknesses of my own, I don't need to add any more. And I know that if I get too far involved in it, I will want to start picking it apart and seeing what lays underneath the surface...and the problem with that is...I already know...it's layer upon layer of lies and more lies and half truths.

 

But I really do appreciate everyone on this thread who comments, because even if I don't understand everything myself, I've got a lot of brothers and sisters on here who do and that helps me filter out things that I don't need to pay attention to, so thank you for all the comments...and keeping us updated on things that could be life saving!
