Interesting point of view: https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2024/apr/11/war-on-faith-is-happening-right-now-are-you-willin/

"The war on faith is occurring before our very eyes - are you willing to join the fight?

Time to stand our ground, defend our right to have faith"

The most recent Pew Research data on religion, released March 5, found that in 2021 “religious groups faced harassment from governments or social groups and individuals in 190 out of the 198 countries and territories in our study.” In 183 of the countries, the government was involved in the harassment, the highest level since the study began in 2007.

Eph. 3:20 “Now to the one who can, according to his power that is operating in us, do more than superabundantly beyond all the things we ask or conceive”

Pope will attend G7 meeting to discuss AI

Quote

Pope Francis will participate in the G7 for the first time, the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced in a video message. Led by Italy, the summit will take place from June 13-15 in Borgo Egnazia, Puglia.

"I heartily thank the Holy Father for having accepted Italy's invitation. His presence gives prestige to our nation, to the entire G7," the Italian Prime Minister added.

"It is the first time in history that a pontiff participates in the work of the group of seven. The Holy Father will do so in the session which is also open to the invited countries and not only to the members of the G7"

Exposed for what? Using AI?

We know the Governing Body already use AI, or at least AI images.... or you mean something like 'Father Justin' that Catholic Answers launched the other week?....

Sorry if anyone was confused. I meant that the Pope could be revealed as someone who speaks with artificial intelligence (if you didn't get my joke, I apologize for the language barrier).

The House Passes H.R. 6090: A Threat to the Christian Faith and an Affront to Free Speech

https://news.gab.com/2024/05/the-house-passes-h-r-6090-a-threat-to-the-christian-faith-and-an-affront-to-free-speech/

A new law was just passed in the US.

Quote

H.R. 6090 could potentially make it a crime for pastors to preach sermons that adhere to Biblical passages, of which there are many, which explicitly state that the Jews killed Jesus.

As a result, churches may become targets for Civil Rights Act discrimination lawsuits, leading to a wave of anti-Christian sentiment and the stifling of religious expression. This legislation follows just a few weeks after we learned, during Holy Week of all times, that saying “Christ is King” is “antisemitic” from many of the gatekeeping establishment voices on the right.

Has it?

Although it has passed the House, it now needs to be passed by the Senate, and then signed by the President, before it becomes 'a new law.'

From their website it appears that Gab Press is more opinion than fact. We need to be cautious about believing and sharing "unconventional narratives."

Gab Press provides a platform for authors and creators to publish their works independently. By enabling writers to bypass traditional publishing gatekeepers, Gab Press opens the door for innovative ideas and unconventional narratives that might have been overlooked by the mainstream.

While some Jews (leaders) bear most  responsibility for Jesus death as the scriptures make clear.....people tend to make the whole group responsible for Jesus death.

It would be like if my son was killed in Vietnam....and I go around saying: "the Vietnamese people killed my son.”  You can see how this could influence others to hate anyone Vietnamese.

It’s a "tight rope” act.  Yes, as a whole the Jews rejected Jesus, but in today’s climate we have to choose our words wisely.

If “christian” preachers use expressions like “the Jews killed Jesus”,.... nowadays it could stir up more hatred and prejudice.

While we don’t water down the truth. But we do present it in a balanced, and responsible  way.

John 10:18  "No man takes it away from me, but I surrender it of my own initiative.  I have authority to surrender it, and I have authority to receive it again".

So, Jesus surrendered his soul on his initiative.  He could have summoned a legion of angels, however, how would the prophecy be fulfilled.  Gen. 3:15.

The Jewish Scribes  and Pharisees clamored for his life and said "let his blood come upon us and our children..and so it came to pass.

These were the fanatics of Jesus's day.

I realize it's sensationalized - I did not post it as if their fears were facts. It's just another sign of an anti-Christian attitude and it could very well be an avenue that is used to destroy religion. I think that's worth noting.

This is their fight, not ours; we don't hate Jews. The Jews who had a hand in killing Jesus were offered forgiveness way back then. It doesn't even make sense for modern people to hold a grudge - not to mention the fact that we have hope because he died. 🤷‍♀️

I would be careful about saying that since it's now a political slogan. We don't use that phrase as Witnesses, although the sentiment is true, so using it won't identify you as a Witness, it will identify you as a Republican.

It is good for us to be very careful about what we say, how we say it, where we say it and when we say it. So, having free speech does not mean we can speak freely, it means that we have to be cautious as serpents in what we say, and innocent as doves in what we mean.

Very true. The same statement can be said by two people, one will be applauded and one will be hanged.

For example the question "Who is Jehovah?" was asked by Pharaoh and he ended up drowning. We ask the same question in our ministry all the time but I believe God is happy with us asking it.

It all depends on the context.

Yes but we still don’t want to unnecessarily encourage hatred of one group against another.

And see them using that exact slogan on one of the photos (near the end) in this article:
