Although animal crackers tend to be sweet in flavor like cookies, they are made with a layered dough like crackers and are marketed as crackers and not as cookies.

First you will have to read the rules of the game

The game rules do state that a word can appear anywhere in the sentence, not sentences and, furthermore, this seems to pertain to the existing word not naming the new word, however, using a conjunction, like has been done in this sentence, would allow for two sentences to legitimately be a single sentence.
