Hey brother, maybe just focus on earthquake above 6 or 7 ?

My reasons for choosing 5 & up were as follows, but I can adjust:

A 5.0 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale is considered a moderate earthquake. Earthquakes of this magnitude can cause damage to poorly constructed or older buildings, but are unlikely to cause significant widespread damage or casualties. The effects of a 5.0 earthquake include:

  • Shaking that can be felt indoors, especially on upper floors of buildings. Hanging objects may sway.
  • Potential for minor structural damage to buildings, such as cracks in walls or chimneys.
  • Possibility of power outages, broken windows, and other minor damage.
  • Risk of triggering landslides or rockfalls, especially in mountainous areas.
  • Potential for small tsunami waves in coastal areas, typically less than 1 meter in height.

Overall, a 5.0 earthquake is not considered a major seismic event, and the damage it causes is usually limited to older, weaker structures. Modern, well-built buildings are designed to withstand earthquakes of this magnitude without significant structural damage. Proper preparation and emergency planning can help mitigate the impacts of a 5.0 earthquake.

Sure, but as these are still minor compared to lvl 6 or 7 and beyond, and are quite numerous everyday, you are going to fill this topic.
If would be better to write about the earthquake we experienced.

We have been having several earthquakes for the past two weeks all generally in the same area as what we had on the 23 Aug 2024, as another one was recorded (4.5Mw) at 6am on Saturday moring (7 Sep 2024). My wife felt this one as she was inside, whereas I was outside doing chores.

I have been thru many up where I live. Most are barely noticeable, I’ll feel a shaking in the ground for a brief instant before it stops. We had a very bad one (mag 7.1) in November 2018. Had aftershocks for several months afterwards.

Leviticus 19:18: “‘You must not take vengeance nor hold a grudge against the sons of your people, and you must love your fellow man as yourself.”

My family and I were in the Sylmar earthquake in 1971. Thankfully, we weren’t at the epicenter. Have been through a lot of tremors, too. They’re just something you learn to live with.
