“Newsroom” changed to “News”

Today on our website JW.org, it Looks like the “Newsroom” has been changed to “News”   AND I think the brothers have changed it from it having two sections, one for everyone and one for journalists, to now just having one section for everyone.

I was wondering the same thing. Once in a long while someone in the ministry has asked about our policy on child abuse. I could easily lead them to the official pdf file on the subject using Legal Resources. But now it's not there. Now I have to do a search for child abuse, and it comes up that way. Fortunately it's at the top of a long list.

At least I know how to find it. But if a journalist was looking for something on the subject, they might have trouble finding that, not knowing their way around the site.

 

I'm not sure why that packet is under 'European Information Packets.' The same packet used to be available for the entire world, not just Europe. In fact, all items under that "European" link are for the whole world!

I think it is perhaps more an issue of keeping the specialised (and generally fairly rarely used information/brochures/packets) out of the way from day-to-day usuage by publishers? Basically cleaning up the top ribbon menu / hamburger menu for everyday/general usage by publishers?

 

Though I do believe that perhaps the brochure 'Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Scripturally Based Position on Child Protection' in particular should be presented more 'up-front' - for example in the 'Library' > 'Books & Brochures' section? .... But at least it is now on the website, and as you said, it can be found easily via the search function for 'child abuse'.
