2023 Governing Body Update #8 / BEARDS!!!

Recommended Posts

Our KH appointed brothers -

 is about 65% beards/goatee

18 with and 8 without …. But 3 can’t grow it - either too sparse or because of youth (2)

in other local congregations it is at least 50%

in the world …. Mall etc it is over 50%
construction and IT fields it’s over 75%

(this is south Florida)

finally saw a bearded women ….. not at the hall

it definitely threw me …. I literally stumbled

we did have 1 sister who is a jokester …

use the facial feature of zoom to give herself a beard right after the announcement

???

have any of you had a recent KM school

we received several reminders of proper dress and grooming for brothers and sisters attending

suits or jackets and ties

sisters -  dresses and skirts no pants

we were even told we would NOT be granted access if not properly attired

we have had a local needs parts to discuss wholesome and modest dress and grooming

main points mentioned

beards should be groomed / trimmed

hair should be modest not a fad style

clothes should be modest clean ironed

pants and clothes should NOT be tight

speaker did a great job and used pictures from our publications to highlight dress for our area

So, if brothers can look good with beards…

Can sisters look good with hairy legs and mustaches?

I like tomboys, but how much is too much?

Well, Jehovah gave us the hair. I mean, he wouldn’t put it there if he didn’t mean it to grow…would he??

Live long and prosper. 🖖🏻

Jules,

everything Jehovah creates has a purpose. Including mosquitoes 😆

Maybe we will have an answer on that someday.   The fact that they suck precious blood for their own use, sounds more like a plague device.   Like the thorns and thistles, birth pains increasing, etc.

I did digress though, so back to beards...

I curse the day this “beard GB update” was published. Just kidding! :D But seriously: Why hide a handsome face behind a beard? I know that these are all personal preferences and even though I admit that there are exceptions - in my world the general slogan is: “The most beautiful face is a hairless face”

It’s a good question to ask the originator of beards. Have you ever ask yourself what’s the usefulness of beards or all other body hairs? 🤣🤣🤣

LOL.  I hadn't seen that type yet, but wouldn't mind trying it.   I was reluctant as I hadn't seen that style yet on anyone.  I asked someone from another state who I know and they hadn't seen it either...

There’s an elder in my circuit that had a handle bar mustache. He’s a younger elder and I personally think it’s ugly LOL but that’s just my opinion. But the thing is pretty big and I think it looks tacky but to each their own

I do love me a nice beard. My husband looks better with one. Although he likes to grow his a little longer than I like. He likes the ducktail style beard and I prefer it a tad shorter. But I do have to say, seeing him up on stage giving a talk with his beard is very attractive. But I’m partial to him. This is his beard style now

"...or builds up non-existing chins.."  😉

That's a big reason why men become so handsome with the beards.  In my humble opinion, of course.. ❤️  Plus, they look extra manly, which is a VERY good thing 😍

My husband’s beard…he is the old guy in the black shirt next to me in yellow.  The other brother is in our congregation too.  Both of them grew beards around 6 months after the update.  They both still have.  I keep reminding my husband I only like him with a beard if he keeps his hair styled modern.  If he doesn’t then he looks like an old hill billy which I don’t like.  IMG_1055.thumb.jpeg.dbe381470261d8621dc1cc9792503222.jpeg

I always wanted to have a mullet back in the 80's.   Fortunately, that never happened.   But it did pick my curiosity... 😄

Mullets here down under are for what we call Bogans.😂 We used to call them Westies, Bogans that is.

According to Wikipedia…..

Bogan is Australian and New Zealand slang for a person whose speech, clothing, attitude and behaviour are considered unrefined or unsophisticated. Depending on the context, the term can be pejorative or self-deprecating.
