He was also the Voice of Mufasa in "The Lion King" and the actor of the King Jaffe Joffer character in "Coming to America". He had a very soothing voice and a nice personality (at least when acting, because I don't know who he really was)

For me, it's Jehovah's voice in the 10 commandments with Charlton Heston... I heard that was a Mormon actor who was doing it... eeeeek

Just like Dan Sydlik was Jehovah’s voice in "God's Name Declared in All the Earth"... as well as Pharoah's 😉

Hey, that's cool. He did both voices? On a closer listen to 'Jehovah' in that drama, that's a definite possibility! Where did you hear that?

I don't remember where I heard it (43 years ago 😉), but it's pretty easy to recognize both voices.. 😊

I don't think Jehovah's name was used in the movie - but then, neither was Charleton Heston's name used during the movie, and he starred in the movie.

He had a distinctive voice, but his demeanor was very calming.

 

I have been told I have a very distinctive voice, very calming.  But it definitely isn't as deep as James Earl Jones.

I have heard and used that many times myself.
