Today’s shooting at LDS church was right beside Kingdom Hall

Terrible news today:- https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ceq2vd15glwo

 

I believe this shooting and deliberate arson of the building was directly next to the Kingdom Hall there. The hall was shown on the news with fire engines and emergency services surrounding the area.

 

 

Micah 4:5 ......"we, for our part, shall walk in the name of Jehovah our God to time indefinite, even forever."

John 15:13 "No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his life in behalf of his friends."

I assume we would’ve been having a meeting? (unless it was their assembly). It was on McCandlish Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan

before 2018, they commonly referred to themselves as mormons but have since stopped using the term

I have family and friends from pioneer school that attend that KH. (From both  congregations. We are in the same circuit. 

If you can’t stand it anymore then kneel.

In the US, people generally view the Church of LDS and JWs in a similar way.  "New" religions, door-to-door activities, deemed as being wacky cults with friendly people who'll try to convert you.  Also, we having what's called zoning restrictions, which generally puts businesses and churches close to other businesses and churches, and residential homes in their own zone.

I believe Grand Blanc is listed on donate.jw.org as Michigan circuit 11, so their autumn assembly wouldn’t be until next month: https://apps.jw.org/ui/E/meeting-search.html#/?a=32650EB4-81DB-4AF7-8863-ED48C8E7042B

Ty. I am far away, and just used our website. I do not know the circuit numbers. Thanks for the clarification !

Very odd,  just plugged in our congregation and it showed the same results that you got.  But unless the two congregations were moved out of circuit 11. They are assigned to Oct 18 same as our congregation. 
the congregations at that KH are Grand Blanc and North Holly.

Our Kingdom Hall sits between two churches!

What sad news. 😔

 

Something so close, regardless of the motive, must leave the brothers feeling quite apprehensive.

 

I also imagine the brothers will find an opportune moment to console those affected by this tragedy.

Just announced on local news/media conference all people are now accounted for. 5 dead and 8 injured.  Several still in icu in critical condition. Also a 6yr old child was among those still in hospital.   A several suffered smoke inhalation.
