The Governing Body decided that starting January 1, 2026, brothers 80 years of age or older will no longer serve as members of a Branch Committee.

However, these dear brothers will serve as consultants to the Branch Committee.

Helpers never served on the GB so their role wouldn't quite be the same as a consultant

That announcement applied to branch committee members, not the governing body.

Yes, and I think at least three current GB members are over 80, and there has been no website announcements.

We both struggle with names but Emma calls Brother Lett “Tigger”.

I think Br. Splane will be 80 this year and Br. Lett is about my age at 78.

And as far as these Governing Body members, they are “still sharp as a pencil” ✏️ They process a wealth of knowledge, wisdom and experiences. And they have set a fine example of endurance. I’m still amazed at Bro. Lett coming out to speak at the annual meeting in-spite of his wife just passing in death. That has taught me a important lesson that even if I’m hurting emotionally inside, I still can praise Jehovah by preaching about the Kingdom, keeping my Faith intact, and making the Hope in a New World assured!

My guess is the brother will share highlights from the last 3 Special Conventions.

Lome, Togo - December 26- 28, 2025.

Jakarta, Indonesia #2 - December 26- 28, 2025.

Auckland, New Zealand - January 9-11, 2026.

 

Then the videos from the 2025 Convention will be online, including the MV for "To Do Your Will Is My Delight"
